Have followed Tigers since I was about 8 years old and that is a very, very, long time ago and there have been a lot of disappointments along the way, but I have to say that today is right up there with them.

Quick someone Facebook message Sammy McIntyre and let him know his exit has moved into the upper pantheon with the 1989 Grand Final, the departure of Tim Brasher, the 1994 wooden spoon, the Hopoate hidden finger, the loss of Tedesco and the **2000 32-31 capitulation to Penrith.**

Ugh, why for you do this?

It's a special one that loss. Somehow up there with finals and grand finals losing.

I feel gutted that McIntyre has gone when Chee Kam (the laughing hyena that’s happy with a 15 minute cameo appearance, then spend 20 minutes cuddling the opposition at full time) remains!

same sentiment mate, he is a good guy but they have to do what they have to do... their careers are short and they have to look after themselves and the club has to look after itself too, sadly we don't know what's going on in the club but hopefully everything is going forward not backwards

Sam was the kind of guy that is needed in every squad as a depth signing. Unfortunately, at the Tigers, players like him tend to end up somewhere in the first 17, but I believe that on the money that he was on we really needed to keep him and if there is any truth in the story from the POM that we sat on the contract for 2 weeks and didn’t wrap him up just smacks of complete incompetence.
We then hear that the coach was completely blind sided by his departure. If there is any truth to it then it sounds like the coach just may have thought that he may have been a keeper.

I can appreciate your opinion. Some folks will say that a depth-level of McIntyre is entirely the issue with Tigers 2020. Of course we need depth, but the Tigers of the Cleary era seem to be entirely all of players who are depth-level and nobody better.

Regarding what we "hear" about what happened - all taken with a grain of salt. I'm not going to hang my hat on what anonymous people say, no matter how good their history or otherwise. Such a huge mistake so many folks on here make, to assume that commentary is always completely accurate. Even many comments of a similar thread; social media can be very misleading and you need to be sceptical of everything you read.

I'm done with this club seriously... Missing out on Addo-Carr, only to then lose McIntyre and Aloiai. I've always been one to back the board and stay positive but this is outrageous.

Another club shows interest, offers him a longer deal on more money and gives him a pen and a contract and it’s done in a day. That’s how every other club operates. The incompetence of our management is extreme.
And some fans wonder why we never make the finals. The culture of mediocrity is infested throughout the organisation.

I'm very interested in a definition of incompetence by way of comparison to a club that has made the finals once in 10 years, collected two wooden spoons, gone nearly bankrupt and been bought out by private wealthy benefactors.

Sam did want to stay at the club.
He was verbally told he had a 1 yr deal at about 115k about 6 weeks ago.
He had problems with his manager The Rlpa ripp3d up his contract and Sam found a new manager. Then he contacted the tigers and put out some feelers.
4 other clubs came back with interest given it was only 2 weeks ago.He chose the 2 yr deal with the titans!
The Tigers have Still not contacted his management!
Sam rang Madge yesterday to let him know what he was doing and Madge said he was very disappointed and recruitment had stuffed up.
Did Sam chase big money No, he signed for not much more this year than the tigers said they would offer.
Loyalty goes both was!
And if a club demonstrates you are only secondary to there plan well go to a club that wants you!
