Mediocrity - Accepting It/Not Accepting It

@cochise he brought his dodgy hammies.

I’m not saying if a player gets injuries he shouldn’t get paid. I am saying that there is a limit to it.

If a labourer turned up to a small business and this played out over time what would happen?

He would go an get another job

If a work place puts him in a position to get reinjured again then he would definitely be covered by workers comp. There is a limit to it, he has 2 years left to run on his contract.

You are seriously advocating a situation where injured players could be sacked?

@cochise not at all. I’m advocating for players to accept their part of the contractual bargain is supply of a body capable for the services in the agreement.

I am advocating for players who don’t supply to take accountability.

What a terrible and selfish line to take!

How does medical retirement work?

If an independent doctor states that a player has received a career ending injury they are paid out their remaining salary through insurance and that money s removed from the cap!

How true.

@cochise please help me understand what you mean?

A player should not be penalised for injuries sustained while playing, it is selfish to say it should just so you will have a better football team to support. You want to affect his life and the life of his family in a massive way so you have a better team to support.

I want Josh to return to the dogs but he is owed and deserves the money we have offered to pay him!

@cochise if you join a labouring business with a knee issue and injure your knee again as you perform the duties of your current work contract, the workers comp your receive is dramatically reduced.

You are entitled to claim for damages that result from your current workplace but not your previous workplace.

Why should an overpaid NRL player have it better than the rest of us?

Players go to teams mid contract all the time asking for more money if they over perform. Yet, never the other way.

Players leave clubs mid contract when the club under performs.

Somehow the NRL only goes one direction for high paid players.

@cochise It sounds to me like this is what the whole medical retirement thing is meant to be about. So players have a responsibility to fulfill their contract yes, and if they can't because they are injured, then neither the club nor the player misses out.

Teams like the Roosters lose a player to injury and they seemingly always replace them immediately with a new signing. The system is dodgy and unfair, and we just have to work out how to make it work for us (and the players),

Players do get upgraded contracts but the club has to agree. Players have downgraded contracts at our club to help the team!

Please provide an example where a player has done this without being released?

@cochise yep I take sick leave. Then it runs out. Then I make a plan.

I don’t expect unlimited sick leave. Do you?

You are comparing apples and dump trucks ......yes you can take unlimited sick leave but at 75% of your salary

Bad luck happens with injuries / surgeries my last 2 surgeries caused me to miss almost triple the time expected because of post surgery issues
