Mitch Brown

How long has Sheens been our coach? If Brown was going to play fullback he would already be there!

since 2003, so 9 seasons… Mitch has been here for the past two when we have had Moltz and McKinnon.

Snake - who's your tip for fullback now?

I feel that the only difference between Brown and Moltz is that Moltzen is slightly more agile.

But what Brown lacks in being agile, he more than makes up for in strength, safety and consistency. And considering the brilliance of Marshall and Farah we dont need a Slater or any other superstar in the #1

If Brown were our fullback next year we wouldn't be loosing anything and we can pick up were we left off this year.

Best, most sane answer I have ever seen regarding Mitch Brown. Great stuff.

Moltz support play Is better then brown. And I think we need that. Although I do agree brown is safer.

Support play can be trained though - It takes practice.

Practise drills over the summer break. Train Train Train Train.

then we will have safety AND support play…...

If Moltzen stays, I think Brown will end up spending most of the year in the lower grades, so maybe he should be looking at greener pastures. I know their was plenty of interest from at least two clubs. I cant see him cracking the mandatory back on the bench job or a job in the starting 13 and injuries seem his only hope

what if Lui leaves, i would have then thought Moltzen will play at 7\. Unless they bring up Miller and leave Moltz at 1.

If Moltzen stays, Brown is more chance to play at half than he is at fullback.

If Moltz stays, and its certainly looking like he will, then he will have the #1 spot on his own..Miller will be given first crack at #7…only if Miller fails badly will Moltz be considered for the #7.

If Lui goes and Moltz stays, I hope Sheens trials Moltz at half and Brown at Fullback to see how that works.

x2 .. brown deserves first shot at fb. never lets the team down and is safe under the high ball. imo with more opportunity brown would come along in leaps and bounds if given a decent go

x 3…. (im a mitch fan, but a moltz fan too + i think miller needs another year to bulk up)

Got the feeling Brown aint gonna see first grade much this year, if Utai in the centres is anything to go by :/ Next year we should have more options and so Brown will have more competition.

Moltzen will probably be picked as first choice fullback based on his finals form.

What makes you think Utai will be in the centres?

I think Demon's point was that Utai was picked at centre late 2011 ahead if Brown. This suggests Sheens perhaps does not rate Brown highly

Or perhaps he just saw Brown as having more utility value on the bench?

I dont think there is any real chance that Utai will be considered a centre option in 2012 unless we have serious injury problems.

That's not correct either Helmsey, because he got rear-ended for Utai in the Warriors semi as well.

If Mitch Brown was under that bomb against the Warriors he would haver defused it!
Mitch Brown for WT fullback in 2012

Again I think because Brown offers more versatility - I just cant see Utai being considered a fulltime centre in 2012 (granted stranger things have happened!!). I reckon Utai will be kept around as a replacement option for Lote if he struggles again.

Put it this way I dont think Lawrence and Ayshford should be too worried about their spots!!

There was a small snippet in the Moltzen story in the telegraph, that we might be trying to move on Brown, easy to see how far down the order he is in Tim"s eyes.
