Mitch Moses Denied Release - Confirmed

It's the only good thing the club can use it for I would say. Avoiding the inevitable mass walk out and continued shaming the club will face.

It's pretty disappointing.

The thing I find interesting is that the Tigers are going to play him on Monday against the Eels, with everyone apparently aware he is then going to go join the Eels. Surely everyone can see the conflict here, especially as he has stated his desire to play semi finals football.

There may be a conflict but it would be a bigger discredit to the team to not have him there, then not only do Parra get their player, but we hamstring ourselves by not playing him against them…..
On the other hand Parra might go easy on him in an effort not to hurt him. I'd have him run the ball all night long.

What if he doesn't run….

Yeah, I can really see him busting a gut against the team he'll most likely be running out for the next week. It's almost like having one of your opponents players playing for you. What's to stop him having a "shocker". There's serious conflict of interest there. Madness. But then it's just another chapter in this circus. Go out and give it your all Mitch. Go out and try and deprive the the team you'll be joining the next day of 2 valuable competition points.

Yep show them your worth every damn dollar they are paying you

I still think you'll find he waits (whether he wants to or not ) until Brooks is back

If the tigers were smart about it they would tell Isaac Moses the following, "so your boy wants out, that's fine but we want teddy and woods signed up, make it happen and they will get a top up this year and we all call the ordeal dusted. If not then Moses plays through the year at the tigers and finishes the season with the Fab Four putting in and trying to win for this team."

Let's be honest 250k is going to attract any quality for this year. This is all we have.

One last mediocre bargain.

If it annoys Isaac, given the scheme of things it would be a petty win.

The NRL couldn't run a chook raffle, they are the most unprofessional sporting organisation around

Moses wants to be released to play finals footy, well the way Parra is going it won't be this year.

He and his manager are parasites

Can't wait till all this BS is over so we can just watch footy.

There should be a window for transfers very unprofessional is NRl.

So true, why is it that a player can suddenly change his mind mid season and want an immediate release to play at another club, even if he's still under contract? What a joke. Need a transfer window at the start and end of the year, maybe one mid season and then that's it.

The decision makers at the NRL head office are absolute morons.

When considered that fans buy season tickets expecting to see their favourite stars but then they all go and catch the last train for the coast (Broncos, Roosters, Sharks, Sea Eagles..) the fans must feel short-changed.

Its great that all our marketing collateral is chock full of players who may not be here next week, or next year.

For example the woodsy "let's make history" banner which I can no longer take seriously at all.

Not really players come and go since 1908 or in our recent case 2000..The Club remains…

Let it be even less chance come late Monday arvo.

What do managers make on players contracts is it 10% ?

More like 5-7% but I'm sure some take less (although Moses and Ayoub would certainly not be among those that take less)

I'd let Moses join Parra after this week, but not before ensuring he cops a lot of hospital passes this week just to try and get him beat up a bit by his new team-mates.

Wests Tigers five-eighth Mitchell Moses not worth $850k a season, says Eels great Brett Kenny

PARRAMATTA legend Brett Kenny believes Mitchell Moses isn’t worth the reported $850,000 a-year he’s getting to join the Eels. Four-time premiership winner and champion five-eighth Kenny is also against Wests Tigers No.6 Moses making an early-season switch to Parramatta. Moses will play for the Tigers against the Eels in their Easter Monday clash at ANZ Stadium, but is widely tipped to be granted an early release to join Parramatta.

Speaking at the club’s 70th anniversary jersey reveal on Tuesday, Kenny gave an honest assessment of Moses who he rates as a playmaker. “I don’t know whether I would be giving him the amount of money that was mentioned in the paper a few weeks ago, $850,000, I don’t think he’s worth that much,” Kenny said. “But he’s certainly a good young player. Obviously it would be a plus for Parramatta to have someone like that in the side. The only thing he might have to work on is his defence. “His defence is not that strong, but his attacking skills are outstanding.”

Kenny is adamant Moses shouldn’t be allowed to switch clubs mid-season, avoiding the situation of playing against his future teammates. He said the current system made contracts worthless. “To me it’s getting more like you don’t need to sign a contract anymore because contracts mean nothing. I just think it’s wrong,” he said. “I would rather him see out the season at the Tigers and come to Parra in 2018 and start the season fresh. That’s the way I’d like to see it done.” Despite his criticisms, Kenny said the 22-year-old Moses would alleviate the pressure on main playmaker Corey Norman.

Halfback Norman has shouldered much of the Eels’ attack this season as the versatile Clint Gutherson spent the opening month of the competition developing as a five-eighth. “(Gutherson is) playing on the wing the majority of the time, had a bit of a stint at fullback and then came into five-eighth. It’s always difficult to do that,” Kenny said. “Having someone like Mitchell Moses, who’s been a regular five-eighth playing, it’s going to help Corey Norman. I think at the moment, there’s a lot of pressure on Corey Norman. “It makes it easier for the defence as well, the opposition start to look at that and say we’ve only got to get him out of the game and Parramatta can’t do anything. “Well if you’ve got someone like Mitchell Moses on the other side who’s very creative as well, suddenly there’s two sides they’ve got to worry about. I think it’ll be very beneficial for them.”

Ha HA!

Perfect, right on cue here comes Bert. Let the comparisons with Sterlo & Kenny begin. Good luck over there Mitch. Halfback has been cursed there since Sterlo.
