We hedge our bets on this bloke and let a talent like Te Marie Martin leave and let Austin leave whilst on contract because we thought Moses would develop into an elite player and this is the loyalty he shows? But wait hindsight a beautiful thing right. :crazy
It be great if he could play for parra in a couple weeks at least we would get a minimum 3 try's down his side guaranteed

Sometimes you have to cut your losses and stop throwing good money after bad.

He's done nothing to justify that price tag.

I absolutely agree with this!! if a player doesn't want to be here or gets a better offer to play somewhere else I don't begrudge them at all. But my comment about loyalty was more about a respect thing. To ask for an immediate release because you get a revised contract that doesn't suit reeks to me of a spoilt brat but being the cynic that I am I put it down to this day an age of 'millenials' that lack respect and expect the red carpet at every opportunity

Actually I think Moses spat his dummy when WT actually withdrew his contract offer. Makes his actions more understandable but I agree that he has shown little respect for the opportunities given to him by our club over TMM and Austen. In hindsight, it's easy to see our management made the wrong calls there.

Sometimes you back the wrong horse, that happens in RL.

The club are cutting their losses early and pushing the problem elsewhere. It's a shame really because Moses is a talented player on his day. At the start of the season, I'd have been happy to keep him over Brooks since it looked as though he kicked away last year. He hasn't gone on with it though and I don't think he can really be demanding his $700/800K pa that he wants.

We can keep the cheaper half, partner him with an older head (Cronk,) or another talented **proven** youngster (Bird,) and give him them a pack who might actually dominate a game in parts, and his game might finally go to the next level.

Moses has shown more at NRL level than Brooks, but not for what he's asking. Cleary is already pulling the reins, and I wouldn't be surprised his consultation was sought during the goings-on last week. JT's comments add credence that Moses also had blood on his hands in regard to Farah being moved on.

THIS: "We hedge our bets on this bloke and let a talent like Te Marie Martin leave and let Austin leave whilst on contract because we thought Moses would develop into an elite player and this is the loyalty he shows?"

Loyalty??? Today???? Bhahahaha!!!!!

Every club and player now says "it's just business." Robbie Farah tried everything to be loyal but the club kicked him in the nuts. Why should ANY player show loyalty to a club who can't be loyal to it's long serving players who have helped them out when they have had salary cap issues.

Who wants to bet Chris Lawrence will be shown loyalty after re-negotiating the ridiculous contract the club gave him to help the club out with their cap issues???

As much as I hate what's going on, I don't blame "The Big 4" for looking out for themselves.

After reading the clubs media release I understand why Moses has gone down the road he has taken. Okay he had plenty of chances to re sign prior to the events of the past week and who really knows what has been happening behind the scenes, but the club pulls it offer and basically said due to the uncertainty of the 2018 cap we are now making Woods and Tedesco a priority and we will resisted your negotiations when we know what the cap is. So along comes Parra and makes him a offer for basically the same money, its the old bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. 90% of players would have done the same thing.

Don't get me wrong I still think he has a ego ten times bigger than his football ability and long term we will be better off without him and I think the club have also made this judgement and have basically pushed him out the door. Of course the real danger now is the other two will walk also, but thats life and fingers crossed Ivan Cleary will be able to rebuild a far better roster from scratch

Your absolutely spot on and his true colours have shown through.
The Club have finally had enough with all this Big 4 in the papers and Ivan has gave his input from the outside looking in. Enough is Enough

What a peanut that guy is, he talks like he is just making stuff up as it comes to his head. It's one of those things when you read someone's writing and get one impression of them, then you hear them speak out loud, without the benefit of time and revision and an editor, and you think "wow this person is actually an idiot".

You should watch the circus that's 360.
You described rothfield and Kent to a T above… Make it up as they go along

I will die of shock the day one of them says "I don't know actually" or "I don't have an informed opinion on that". They pretend to be experts on absolutely everything., they HAVE TO BE an authority on everything.

I don't watch NRL 360, I don't want to hear goss from "pundits", I just want game analysis. Fox Sports used to be a lot about on-field, the old NRL on Fox was good. I don't mind Sterlo's work, but with the introduction of Matty Johns and his sort of "lifestyle" / "hanging with my mates talking shet" approach, I turned off most of Fox's non-match stuff. Who wants to hear 4 smug wiseguys talk about their opinion on football? I do that enough with my own mates, and if I want more, I come on here and start a conversation w happy.

Matty Johns, the stuff he did off-field as a player, and he's just so smug on the camera, not for me. Then there's Gordie who's prepared to throw footballers under the bus for a bit of bit, like Farah and this week, don't know if it was a joke, but he was reported as condemning Josh Dugan for getting injured too often, just like Tonie Carroll used to. If I was Tunza and that was not a joke, I'd be over there to knee Gordie into unconsciousness (like Tony De Las Heras if you missed the reference). Then there's Hindmarsh who was a legit footballer, he's not so bad, and his idiot mate Fletch who is clearly just lucky enough to be pals with John and Hindy.

Unprecedented press statement. I don't follow other clubs too closely, but I don't think I have never seen a club openly identify its order of preference for signing players. Moses, or my likely his manager, has pushed management to this point.

Clever by the club to reference the protracted negotiation's between the players' union and NRL. I could read that press statement over and over again - pure gold.

To think we let TMM go to accommodate this muppet

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Austin had already proven himself in first grade, but to let TMM go with barely a year left on Moses' contract?

This club is nuts.

Sounds like they pulled the deal when Cronk became a possibility. The timing is all too coincidental.

Friday 3 year 3 million dollar deal.
Monday Cronk is on the market.
Wednesday wait no wait deals off.

I would say Brooks has got in quick and Moses was left high and dry and his release request is because he knows it.

In relation to Cronk, could we really have a halves combo of Brooks and Cronk?

Neither strikes me as a 5/8…

What does everyone think?

Brooks to play 5/8, Cronk to half.

Take the pressure of directing the team around the park away from Brooks and let him focus on playmaking. Playing under and observing how Cronk directs a team around the park for two years is the exact tonic for Brooks.

The coincidence here is Cleary's signing. If WT modified its offer after Cleary turned up, then my guess is that Cleary doesn't rate Moses as much as the club did.

In other words, no coincidence at all.

I will run from here to melbourne in the nude if we sign Cooper Cronk .. cant see it happening.

But there are still legitimate halves out there off contract who we can chase .. Widdop, Jack Bird, even Shaun Johnson (didn't Clearly give him his Debut) … the challenge will be convincing them we are on the up and they wont be joining a basket case.

Despite the hate for him at the moment, Mitch Moses is a genuine talent who will be a loss to the club, but no player is irreplaceable. Especially a 21 yr old whose opinion of himself doesnt match his resume.

He is a young man who has cost this club plenty.
We had faith in his ability, we were patient, we stuck by him and let better players go.
Reported revised $700k per season ….. on his current ability ..... was a very generous offer.
$1M offer was just plain crazy!
I had my doubts about his character.
So if he turns out to be a star elsewhere I will not mind at all ..... he doesn't deserve to wear the WT jersey or support from WT fans.

Agree all the effort put into him and releasing of other 5/8 options to accommodate him he still couldn't decide on whether he wanted to stay or not. Than when the tiger's (probably Cleary and thank god he did) moved things along he spits the dummy and decides within hours he wants to play for the eels. A club that supposedly told him when he waa younger that he would never make it. We give him all the opportunity in the world and get nothing for it. I hope his success at parra is equal to or less than the success he had here

He got lucky. He played the waiting game and it's come off. I look forward to seeing his current minders running hard at him. Great to see LB commit. I was one that had major concerns about his progress and questioned whether or not we should pursue him, but given he clearly wants to be part of the clubs future, then I think it's great. Cleary can hopefully bring the best out of him. I still struggle with the fact that we had Austin and Martin and we let them go. But anyway….

We let them go as a sign of faith in Moses and what does he do….strings the WT along in 2016 with protracted negotiations only to commit for a further 12 months at the 12th hour, then strings the WT along again in 2017....The guy is a spoilt brat and should be booed out of town quick smart...

This news has upset me greatly.

Nah, just joking.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Mitch.
Thanks for the (bad) memories.

What gets me riled up about these blokes - we released/let go so many good players in order to keep these ungrateful young players.

They don't get it, they seem to want a Premiership now, not willing to hang in there and do all the grinding stuff week in and week out WHERE THEY ARE in order to achieve finals/ premiership a couple of season later.
They want it NOW…...Guys stop hanging around the Wests Tigers, go if that's what you want and we will get players here who are happy to be part of the WESTS TIGERS :rant

he's here this year and the minute the coach or anyone see him putting anything less than 100%, he'll be dropped. this is a win for us, players asking release puts us in a stronger position.

Can't wait for uncle backdoor Bennys reason for wanting to leave

Benny's most probably been Mitch Moses' advisor in recent weeks. Benny does comes with great management experience and foresight after being involved with the Balmain Leagues club deal? Since he retired from playing football he been a great assistance to the club - not.

Wests Tigers did give Moses plenty of time to make a decision but he kept lingering until Brooks signed. Maybe he doesn't like playing alongside Brooks and thought he should have be given much more priority over Brooks, Tedesco and Woods.
