Watched The Wolf of Wall Street today. Funniest movie I've seen in a very long time, as well as being brilliantly acted by the majority of the cast. Definitely recommend it if you're not too opposed to sex, drugs and a shitload of profanity.

Argo is such a quality movie. I finally got around to see it and I understand now how well it do on awards nights.

Yeah Argo is a great story and is well done by Afleck. That CIA agent was an amazing fellow.
Wolf on Wall Street is awesome. Exactly how I pictured the life of a bloke earning a million dollars a week when he was in his mid twenties. Pretty confronting as it should be.

Hearing a lot of good stuff about this.
I'm seeing it tonight @ 9 PM.

DiCaprio is the man.

i saw this the other night. really enjoyed it!!

and for mine, it was great to see leo in a role where he is not supposed to be a lot older than he is, eg; j edgar, the aviator, django unchained, and he does well.

Watched American Hustle over the weekend. Got it as a screener luckily. I say luckily because I would have been upset if I had of paid for it
It's a tedious experience, and really just a cliche riddled mess. Expected more from a film nominated for so many oscars…..5.5 / 10

Can't believe someone actually said this about the movie and I agree with you 100%.

I actually paid 20$ each for my gf and I. Christian bales acting was the only highlight for me. Most of the nudity was absolutely uncalled for as well.

Agreed.

I thought the acting all round was quite good, specifically Bale and Lawrence. However, the story was extremely lacking and wasn't original in any way. Wolf of Wall Street is a far superior movie IMO and should be getting much more recognition.

Also looking forward to 12 Years A Slave, great cast.

I saw this last night and it is brilliant. Acting, production design and cinematography are all amazing.

Tough story to swallow ofcourse...

thanks stryker, i will look for it (if even just to see it myself).

i saw Last Vegas - also a screener, so great quality. it was as people say, an oldies The Hangover, and wasnt really anything to write home about. it was okay though.

I enjoyed American Hustle at the time but thought it was a pretty empty experience afterwards. Had no emotional heart really, beyond Christian Bale. I don't understand all the Oscar attention - have a feeling the film thinks it is a lot better than it is.

Liked Mystery Road last night (although the ending was pretty crap). The cinematography was amazing.

its great how some movies stay with you afterwards, isnt it? one movie that was the reciprocal of your mystery road experience for me was prisoners; watching it i was thinking a bit "meh" but then afterwards it seemed quite a bit better. sign of a good movie.

I will definitely catch that one Prisoners. Hugh Jackman has never been known for the depth of his acting but from all accounts he is sensational. Very topical story too. Thanks for the endorsement.

I personally rate prisoners as a much better movie.

Gyllenhaal deserved a nomination over Bale

Btw I wrote a film that is up for Best Tv movie or mini-series this Thursday at the AACTA awards. It's called An Accidental Soldier. I think it turned out pretty good, so check it out if you can. And wish us luck for Thursday!

Cheers. I haven't been to the AACTA awards before, so will be hobnobbing with Big Russ! The costume designer for American Hustle is an Aussie-and he hopes he wins, they were awesome.
