MOYLAN MAYBE RELEASED ..

I would not take Merrin on what Penrith are currently paying him.

I am also curious around this sentence, "It will be a choice between Moylan or Trent Merrin but both won't be at Penrith next season".

Does that mean that both players will leaving Penrith next year, or that they cannot be there together and one will need to go?

Could the rumblings about cutting a teammate's grass that came out earlier in the year, which TMM stated had nothing to do with him, be an insinuation that Matty met Sally?

Although Moylan is a better player to have within a team, I believe Merrin would be more suited to our needs atm. No point in signing Moylan if we already have a fullback, no matter how good he is. However, Merrin, as a forward, is very much needed.

Does the interest/signing of Thompson mean they missed out on Moylan?

I'm starting to think Moylan is coming our way.

Or maybe he's just staying at Penrith. He definitely won't be here.

It will be a choice between Moylan or Trent Merrin but both won't be at Penrith next season.

Merrin would be handy

Yep.

Merrin >>>>>> Moylan.

Interesting theory. All the talk about Moylan to Manly because of his love of surfing, but according to SMH this morning, he is lucky to paddle a board. Maybe someone started questioning the amount of time he was spending taking lessons for very limited improvement.

Talk about his surfing aspirations!!!!

I bet TMM is laughing, he was blamed, but apparently not the culprit, but in with a big shot at a premiership ring

TMM had itchy feet from his earliest days at the Tigers coming through the ranks - maybe he saw the writing on the wall about the favoured Moses being in his way!

I hope Moylan stays put, one because I like to see one club players and two, he is not coming to us so he would only strengthen Manly or the Sharks

Tyrone May being out virtually all next year will complicate things.

All year? 6 months starting now, right?

And Wasn't Cartwright at pivot for most of last year and Moylan at fullback ? And you could play Wallace at pivot and the the young hooker could start at nine Penrith have plenty of talent it's an embarrassed of riches a think tank of not who to buy but who to let go and there NYC team is in the GF I was told they have a gun back row

Bodene is solid, but we been there done that.

I think we should just hold onto the cash and see what happens later. Who knows is may help is jag a top class player for season 2019.

Next years cap money can't be held onto and spent in 2019, it needs to be used for next years squad.

We have to fill the spaces sure. But say we have 2 spots left, and $700k left for 2018\. Hypothetically, we could promote 2 young guys up at $100k each. We got $500k left for 2018\. We pay 5 other current players $100k extra, and that's $500k off 2019's cap. Not back ended contracts, but front ended…

Its all hypothetical, Cleary is probably just bidding his time. We have a good core. makes sense to wait and see where we need strengthening.

Wow, wonder how Gouldy is going to handle this one.

6 months is usually best case scenario is it not?

9 months is the norm. 6 months maybe when you're back up running a little bit but it's another story to build up strength and confidence in it. Unless they go for the more risky LARS which can get you back in under 6 months but with a much greater likelihood of further complications down the track.
