MOYLAN MAYBE RELEASED ..

SHHHHHH I

Matt Moylan is no certainty to remain in Penrith but he’s also no guarantee to be a half if he was to join a new club.

This column has heard that any interest from Cronulla would revolve around Moylan wearing the No.1 on his back.

With Val Holmes still learning to ball-play and Josh Dugan to replace Jack Bird as a left centre, a Moylan bid makes sense.

The Wests Tigers also need a fullback, while Manly would be in the market for a five-eighth if Blake Green was to leave early. At this stage, they’re all hypothetical scenarios and should be taken with a grain of salt but it sets the stage for a busy off-season

Tyrone May being out virtually all next year will complicate things.

All year? 6 months starting now, right?

6 months is usually best case scenario is it not?

9 months is the norm. 6 months maybe when you're back up running a little bit but it's another story to build up strength and confidence in it. Unless they go for the more risky LARS which can get you back in under 6 months but with a much greater likelihood of further complications down the track.

LARS was something like 3 months wasn't it? Luke Covell did it in his retirement year and was back in like 10-12 weeks.

That should hook enough fish to get another 20 or so pages out of this thread.

I'm just missing this ongoing idea in the media that Tigers need a fullback, when we made a fairly prominent signing covering the fullback position middle of last year, who finished with several tries and as our main goal kicker.

Now if they said "Tigers also need a strike backrower" then I'd have no argument.

Cronulla don't need a fullback with Holmes and Dugan, Manly don't need a 5/8th unless they punt Green, no different to our speculation.

I would not take Merrin on what Penrith are currently paying him.

I am also curious around this sentence, "It will be a choice between Moylan or Trent Merrin but both won't be at Penrith next season".

Does that mean that both players will leaving Penrith next year, or that they cannot be there together and one will need to go?

Could the rumblings about cutting a teammate's grass that came out earlier in the year, which TMM stated had nothing to do with him, be an insinuation that Matty met Sally?

You could be onto something. This was in a foxsports article about TMM.

-
In fact, nine months before Martin was given permission to find a new home, Phil Gould phoned Martin’s manager to float the idea of leaving early.

He feared the spine was too young and could sense the lack of experience would prove costly.

“Gus came to me and flagged some potential concerns about having two young halves in a side where other influential players were in their early 20s,” Purcell said.

“He was on the money and a man of his word. He should be commended for letting him go.”

Not wanting to languish in reserve grade, Purcell explored the market and the Warriors jumped to the front of the queue.

If it wasn’t for a vicious rumour, Martin would’ve joined the Warriors mid-season.

They’d tabled a lucrative offer and the deal was all but done.

The rumour was unfounded and has been rebuked countless times since it first surfaced.

Originating from Martin moving out of Matt Moylan’s house to live with his cousin who was struggling to make ends meet in Westmead.

The rumour was utter rubbish but the Warriors were spooked.

The Warriors pulled the deal without any warning.

“He was going,” Purcell said of the Auckland based team.

“They pulled out cold on the stupid rumours they heard.”

Sometimes (thought not often) rumour and innuendo can work in your favour - Martin is now playing in a Grand Final with the Cowboys instead of finishing the season proper with the Warriors and 10 straight losses! Lucky boy

We don't need a fullback, but if a gun fullback comes along and you have money left in your cap, then you'd be crazy not to take him. I think there's more chance of griffin going then Moylan but let's see how this plays out.

Wow, wonder how Gouldy is going to handle this one.

Rip Curl Knarly Dude Breakup Slip Slop Slap Wipeout!

But seriously Penrith have real problems what with Cartwright's ex dying after the pay for abortion shit. Why is Tony Abbott eating an onion more of a front page story that that shit? Penrith are as corrupt as hell!

Griffin has gotten them to the finals 2 years running. Think he's safe. Gus has more backbone to choose coach over player, unlike the spineless twits at the Titans.

But has not got them as far as Cleary did the year before his sacking. Griffin has had a number of high profile and high salary recruits since, but the side and results have not improved

Manly need to punt Green because of CAP pressure.

How will hiring Moylan over Green help? Or are we thinking flexible caps.

Word on the street is
Joel Thompson to Manly
Cronk to Sharks
Maloney to knights

If that all comes to pass then if Moylan was to leave Penrith then it's unlikely the Sharks or Manly would be able to fit him in .

Cronk defiantly won’t be going to cronulla

He doesn’t like wade graham and Andrew fafita

Has no desire to play with them

Very stretchy beanies mate.

SMH just reported that Panthers have place a $250K transfer fee on Moylan, plus his manager wants $900K a season for him, plus he has a $250K TPA that might not get transferred with him leaving the club.
I can't post the article.

Well let them keep him then. That'll please Merrin.

word is if Moylan leaves Penrith, Sharks will let Maloney go and pick up Moylan.

Maloney has offers from Souths, Newcastle and Warrington.

I can't see us being in the hunt for Moylan, as much as I wish we were.
