I’d be absolutely disgusted with my team and would be demanding some accountability.

So was your feeling the same when a similar situation happened to Mick Potter at the Tigers?

Yes! But from memory that was only ever one person causing all that drama and also using the media to advance his personal agendas...

From my memory - the reason he was told that his contract would not be renewed was because he had "lost the dressing room". Now I don't think you can lose the dressing room because of one player. A stack of them got together and decided to tank and the games were lost and suddenly "he was gone".

I recalled it playing out a little bit differently from my perspective, but it was so long ago I can’t remember all the facts now.

Main thing now is we are finally over / and getting over people trying to kill our beloved Tigers.

Had a lot of time for Potter and Brown - both very decent human beings.

Great post Russell, cheers for bringing that up , he is most definitely a good bloke and a fair professional coach but could not possibly be immune to making mistakes or being drawn into all of this silly speculation lately - and seemingly, dissent from the players. Don’t blame him!

@Tigerlily Maybe this should of been applied to a certain Tigers player that destroyed a chance for the team to play in a finals series!

That particular person was mentioned in the above scroll up to #76

Been hundreds of them Snake ....who's who of players who have put on the Tangerine ,Black and White

Good to see the Knights in turmoil. They have been nothing but pretenders. Other than the Ponga signing Brown's signings have been short term mercenaries unwanted by the good clubs.

The whole club stinks of pretentiousness.

@Tigerlily it definitely wasn't just Farah but Potter had terrible timing. The club spent no money in his time (although that may have been why he was hired, because he was cheap). He came in when the boys club there was at its worst and he had the hide to tell Benji that he wasn't at his best when the bloke wasn't mature enough to hear it.

Plenty of insinuations made on here - but the fact remains the same - successful coaches don't get sacked. It is a results based game and you can point fingers, at individual players or the whole playing group, the board, managers and or all of the above, but if you don't get the results especially with a decent roster, then you are going to be out of a job.
There has been plenty ahead of Brown at numerous clubs and there will be others after him - and coaches know it better than anyone.

Or one can get sacked by the general manager, so that a used coach he does not want can then be reappointed by the chairman. And all that just to satisfy a middle of the road halfback.

Yes - wonder if the GM is regretting that costly decision $10 mil later.

@Telltails Wasn't Panthers coming fourth last year when Griffin got sacked? That move was political, and results didn't guarantee that coach's job. Though I suspect they could have won the GF last year and the coach still would have been out of a job.

Always the exception to the rule - not a usual situation where retaining a star player can influence a club to hire his dad as coach. And in hindsight now looks like it was a poor decision.

Karma is wonderful when it is applied to a deserving target

What amuses me most is the divergent agendas and lack of communication between the GM and Chair. The GM sacking Griffin while aiming to sign Bennett while the Chair was looking to sign buddy boy. The GM realises he's been dudded big time and quits. Buddy boy then steers his ace roster out of the top 4.

And Graham Murray got sacked after a grand final and then semis.

And Folkesy got sacked less than a year after winning the grand final, but I recall there were troubles that next season.

The man still slapped trent barrett....hopefully there is a job for him in rugby league somewhere based on that alone
