Nathan Peats officially told to look elsewhere

@Tiger Watto said:
Couldnt believe this when I first heard it… Nathan will be a far more influential player next year with a good 18 months since his injury etc.

Personally, Peats is the guy you could build a team around.

**Parra are a Basketcase**!

Yep - and they will be cap compliant by Friday night whether he goes or not. Its the NRL that's the basket case. It certainly doesn't pay to stick to the rules.

I wouldn't sign him as we have ballin for this year and next and we have a good hooker coming through the ranks in Jacob Liddle, he will be our future hooker if cherrington leaves

I would seriously look at him

He has some injury issues , but if he gets through the rest of the season , he a goer

And yes , Milky I've heard the Segeyaro story as well

Still I'd throw 800 k at Granville and see how we went …...........

At least we'd be getting better value for money

Father of Parramatta hooker Nathan Peats lashes five Eels officials over salary cap mess

The unlucky man in Parramatta’s salary cap scandal appears to be Nathan Peats. And as the hooker sits in limbo while men higher up the chain discuss his future at the club, one person closest to Peats has taken aim at Eels officials. The father of Parramatta hooker Nathan Peats has blasted the club and its officials for potentially pushing his son out.Geordi Peats told Fairfax Media he is furious with the five embattled officials who are accused of mishandling the salary cap.

His anger comes from the fact Nathan looks likely to be pushed out of the club to ease salary cap pressure. You have five f***wits on the board who can’t add up and it bites a player on the arse when it’s not his fault,” Geordi Peats said.“They reckon they’ve got nothing to answer for, they are pathetic.“(Nathan) is shattered, he’s filthy. He’s not happy, he can’t believe it. They go and buy Kieran Foran and built well this year but obviously they didn’t have the money to do it.“I don’t know how they get away with it, how they justify it to themselves, they are totally to blame. (Nathan is) just the pawn in the big game.”

Geordi Peats played first grade with Canterbury and South Sydney at hooker, the same position as his son.

Would be a massive ask for a club to try get a player to uproot his family and move interstate within 48 hours. If i was peats i wouldn't rush into anything even if it means they don't play for points this weekend. It's not his fault and no-one would blame him for trying to sort out what's best for him and his family.

X2\. Peats is the scapegoat in this salary cap saga!

Welcome peats

Adios Farah, Cherrington, Halatau.

Peats starting hooker with Ballin coming on to give him a break.

No thanks. He's good Milky but he's one of those injury - prone players. Imo, De Gois has more spark out of dummy half then Peats.
Anyway, another hooker we don't need.

I think you should probably give this scenario a bit more thought Milky. Particularly the legal ramifications, logistics and costings of doing what you propose.

Parramatta Eels salary cap crisis: No room for Nathan Peats at Souths, says Maguire
Date May 11, 2016 - 1:20PM

Nathan Peats is no chance of moving to South Sydney to help ease Parramatta's salary cap woes, after Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire on Wednesday ruled out a return of the durable rake to Redfern.

Gold Coast appears Peats' only option as the Eels attempt to offload him in time to slip under the salary cap before Friday's round 10 NRL clash with Souths.

The fact they bought Jennings just before the season started knowing they couldn't afford him is the one that irks me, they should be given no chance to make the 8 this year.

Agreed, what has he done this year that's stood out to warant big money or even origin? QLD would be laughing if he gets picked. But then again NSW don't have anyone in form. I really don't rate Peats at all.

There's no way Peats should leave unless they offer him a great deal. And if he just decides not to go, Farah-style, the pressure will quickly move to some of his higher-paid associates.

The bottom line Peats doesn't have to go anywhere if he doesn't want to. So I guess there will be a massive carrot dangled in front of him to get him to jump and you would have to think the NRL will do everything in there power to broker a deal to get Parra compliant

That would be definite collusion from the NRL. If so, a case would surely be mounted by other clubs for the NRL to be independently investigated.

That is what I hope happens, Peats is the innocent victim, he was already at parra before they went on the off season shopping spree that brought in Foran, Scott, Gordon and Jennings.
