Stop it GEO,you will hurt yourself….we both know that Ivan knows what he is doing and what is required ....

What do you mean WILL hurt himself , haven't you read his comments :sign:

Nofoaluma will need to fight for his spot , obviously not fighting hard enough yet

This is what I mean by Ivan knows what he is doing…he knows Noffos abilities and faults when Ivan is satisfied with Daves ISP form to warrant NRL selection,he will get his opportunity.....simples...

Is it a coincidence that we drop Nof and suddenly our deference improves? Yes he did play in 2 of those games, but maybe it light a fire in him to improve?

You look at our side and Thompson is our right winger, and our best player at the moment. Are we dropping Thompson for Nof? No.

Tui is our fullback and won us a game with his kicking last week. He stays. If he's not fit Thompson plays fullback and Nof returns.

Or Nof starts playing left wing in ISP and shows he's versatile and can push MWZ for a spot. Left wing and right wing are different positions. If he wants to show us he's adaptable then great, a bonus for the team. It catching, passing and fending with a different hand/direction. Should be doable for a good winger like him.

Ivan has a team first policy and you just can not be late to training once ok it happens but if it happens a few times in the off season you are behind the other players because they respect the team and you don't

Amplified I would imagine if your contract is worth a lot more than the competing wingers in the squad.

Noffo plays on the right wing, MWZ plays on the left. Thompson has his nose in front of Noffo for the right wing spot.

I personally would love Noffo on the left wing but Ivan strikes me as a players-play-their-best-position type of coach not a fit-them-in-anywhere coach.

Nofo did another bad read yesterday in ISP that let in a try, given Nofo plays right wing, if we put him on left wing, then when he runs left he will be running to his sideline thus not allowing a hole…problem with his D solved..... :roll
Nofo needs to fix his Defensive issues before he holds down a regular NRL spot....if he doesn’t want to do that with the WT, then off he goes....

Does Corey Thompson need more height…?

**Did you miss Nofoaluma snuffing out 4 or 5 Wenty scoring opportunities with good decisions and defence**..?

I also suggest you look at Price's role in the TRY that was scored..

Did anyone tape this game? Would be interesting to look back to see a few of the examples we're all talking about.

I must admit, my memory of it watching live was that in the second half Wenty were targeting his side and having some success. I also thought that for the try down his edge, he rushed up and got no one and the guy he should've taken was the guy that scored.

Having said that it was all happening on the opposite side of the field to where I was and I haven't seen the replay so hard to say for certain…

He had to snuff out those all tries because of his POOR decisions.
In saying that the overall team defence in first grade would help him and I'd have him in firsts in front of MWZ who is more reliable but doesn't offer anything in attack.

Pretty sure Thompson played left wing at the dogs. You wouldn't need to train anyone in a new position.

He played right wing at the Dogs and right wing at Widnes (when he wasn't playing fullback).

Yeah OK

If he's showing up late to training that changes things. If he isn't putting in as much effort as everyone else then he deserves to be dropped. The good thing is, he is putting in the effort at ISP.

There's a lot of love for nofo out there - and understandably so. I get the feeling that MWZ may not ever get too many accolades from tigers fans no matter how solid his form is. Last year we were constantly tearing our hair out at Nofs defensive reads. We've not had that problem this year. But hey, if you want to go back to a tackle busting beast that leaked a stack of points…...
I'm guessing that our coach has made a decision early to fit thompson in at the expense of nofo and it's worked out so far. When it doesn't work out anymore, I guess he'll make changes.

Nofa is a great guy and will stick by the club. A little bit of depth doesn't hurt anyone. After the first round selection Nofa came out saying himself and Corey push each other and it is great for the club and himself. A true player will stick by and work there way back up, not spit the dummy and move clubs because they got the rough end of the stick.

Considering we won the first two games based on defense, I wonder if we would be in the same position we are now if Noffa was selected on the wing.

Exactly. He also played on the wing against the Broncos too and even though we lost that game it wasn't because of his defence…

So you say to the NRL player - look your playing really well and we are winning but Irving Schwarz is ripping it up in a much inferior competition - so you are being dropped.

Yea that will keep players motivated and not resenting the situation.

You say, "Mate you've done nothing wrong but the guy behind you is just in such form that we need to give him a shot." Why should players get mortgages over their positions just because the team is winning? That isn't real competition. The guys in reggies can only play what's in front of them.

That's ridiculous.
So if you are Paul Green you say to Johnathan Thurston "Look mate, you've done nothing wrong but Jaelen Feeney is going great for the Townsville Blackhawks, he's taking your spot this week"?

MWZ is not Thurston. Nofo will offer much more in NRL and you know it

Just going to jump in here for a second.
Let’s have a look at the past…2016
Teddy
Nof
Kev
Simona
Rankin
Moses
Brooks
This was our backline for the majority of the season, with no pressure to perform we were pretty much what parramatta are now.
A team without depth and nowhere to turn if players were off their game.

Depth.
We have it this year and should use to the best of our advantage.
Nof has been one of our best over the years because our outside backs have been rubbish.
Now we have tradesman like footballers all of whom are putting their body on the line.
It’s crazy to say Nof or anyone else deserves a spot in the 17.
Effort, Ability and attitude deserve a spot in the 17 not reputation.

Don't let facts get in the way…I also don't believe Addo-Carr scored it was Vunivalu..I also recall Nofoaluma smashing a Broncos winger into touch on the tryline..
