NSW Cup Team Announcement: Round 12

I was at Leichhardt this morning to see the match. The playing attitude of our State Cup side is so much like that of the first grade. Somebody should tell all players in this club that you cannot win a match against any team if you stash away your attacking prowess - not even if you lead 22- nil before half time. Unfortunately there is at least one coach in the club who keeps telling the players that forgetting to form a potent attack is the best way to go.

Hang on a second your leading 22-0 yet somehow the attacking problems are the cause for why the team lost?

No I am not joking. If you see a reply of the match you will almost all of Wests Tigers attack in the second half was one out and then one out continuous. What I saw was in the first half Wests Tigers' backline was prepared to line out deep and attack. In the second half the team certainly appeared to shut up shop and go their motions with the one out strategy. Even their kicking game was ineffectual.

I don't know , but in my opinion wouldn't have been a good chance to stick a couple of our younger blokes down a level and try and build their confidence up ??

This team is absolutely pathetic in all aspects. Don't deserve to win any matches, everything about them stinks.

The squad is firstly ridiculously imbalanced. 7 back rowers in the matchday squad. Most of whom are 80 min players. Instead they get rotated in order to ensure everyone gets game time, but then have little impact as they can't really go hard.

This would be easily the worst backline in the comp. The purpose of the NSW Cup is to develop players to step up to the NRL yet there's not a single player in the backline who would be remotely close to playing in the NRL. Most struggle at NSW Cup level. No pace, little skill and simply too small.

The promotion of youth is also bewildering. Why is is that 3 players who have done little get promoted to NSW Cup? 3 players who have been in and out of the NYC side, unable to nail down a spot in Jacobs, Cerruto and McCormack. We have other players who have performed better, have extended contracts and deserve a crack at this level yet get ignored so that less talented players get a run? McCormack is especially confusing seeing the back row is already overflowing, and a scrawny 18 year old playing 20 mins helps no-one!

But most of all its the attitude of the players which lets this team down. They are just gutless, lazy and down right stupid way too often for players who are deemed professional. No one gives a crap. No one is inspirational. Every single player simply goes through the motions.

Jacobs, Cerruto and McCormack to play NYC for the rest of the year. Penani to be dropped permanently. Luani to 6, Cherrington to 9\. Milone stays as there's no one else. Santi at lock and probably drop Liolevave to the bench. He's done absolutely nothing for a while now and needs a big kick up the bum! Promote Felise if they need another prop until Grant comes back.

Buchanan and Santi did themselves no harm today at all. The rest of the team was crap and their positions should all be under question.

This is what has been happening in first grade. You start playing negative footy and the opposition can do whatever they want because they aren't under any pressure when they don't have the ball.

have it on good advise that for the last 2 weeks the NSW cup side has been told to play a defensive game in the 2nd half, as thats what JT wants. they have had good leads in both games and failed to score at all in both games, as they have gone into that one up and bomb type football, the club is going backwards.

Well they're doing a pretty lousy job of playing the defensive game. In any case I'm sure they're not being told to not score any points. Besides if these instructions are coming what went wrong with us leading 22-0? Surely if JT wants them to play a defensive game he wants it all game not just the second half.

Wests Tigers coaching seems to be an easy job. Just concentrate on the tackle bags and practice the one outs.

Just seems their are a lot of players in our club who have clocked off and once that happens it is very hard to turn things around

There certainly seems a very lazy culture within the club though all grades and I blame one man that is head coach Taylor. He came in new and fresh and not even half way through the season and all grades are playing lazy with no commitment . He is the head man of all things footy and there should of been a stamp on this from the get go,I will predict Taylor will not see out his full term.

Don't worry , it's all part of the Great Plan, there's good times ahead , just have patience , 2020 isn't far away.
