My thoughts is purely on Brooks and by no means a smear on Benj. Benj returns as a backup 2018. Brooks progressing well, self belief & confidence is at a good level, . JR gets injured, Benj role increases as season gets on, Benj gets extension then add Robbie & new coach the following year.. i think this is where he started losing his identity & confidence & getting confused with his role in the team. Perhaps Madge really has faith in Brooks long term and now has to bite the bullet & ditch Benj & move forward with Brooks at the helm.
Im very hopeful with Brooks next year.. solid defender & has the x factor as we all know. He'll get that matter between his ears sorted and kill it... hopefully

I would almost say the Manly game was a watershed moment for Brooks, but we say that whenever anyone at this club seems to turn a corner. They love doing 180s and going back to their bad place.

Watershed? With one decent play in the last three minutes of the game to put Doueihi in. Hope you are right, can’t see it myself. To me it will be a watershed when he puts in an 80 minute performance.

Mbye's TRY..

Ok two in 80 minutes. Still hardly a watershed game, for most of it he ran around like a lost puppy. Brandy pretty much summed him up pre-game. He just doesn’t know what he’s doing, dummy’s to no one and runs straight into defenders is his typical play these days.

Does defending count at all..

His defense was huge. That was a really good game from Brooks. His contribution to the team in relation to positives versus negatives was huge. He took and created opportunities and snuffed out plenty that were thrown at us.

Yes he is a good defender, but ET can do that, doesn’t make ET a great halfback.

Still thinking about Brookes taking the tackle on the last, with a handover on the Manly 20 with 40 odd seconds to go. Not sure what goes through his mind or why he has trouble adjusting to plays that he has decided on, even when a better one opens up. I know it was a safe option by a half low on confidence, but 9 times out of 10 a kick into touch (especially so close to sideline with no players to pressure the kicker). Pretty much would have taken the whole 40 seconds to set the scrum, rather than giving them a chance to win it at the death.

Credit where it’s due, and it was a much better game by Brookes. I just hope he can get some confidence back.

Can't believe Brooks is being brought up while we had 33% possession and not a single forward cracked 100m. Must be easy being a forward at the tigers, get paid big money to do nothing and just pass the buck to the halves.

It's true, the forwards were terrible.

That is the Benji effect, we have finally rid ourselves of, we will be a better team next year without Benji

We were a better team when Benji was out of the team altogether. The Penrith and Dogs game 1st time around were probably our 2 most complete performances of the year

Let's be serious for a moment.
We beat Manly ( yes struggling worse than us, Manly) at the death, in a high scoring game.
Obviously when you score so many tries you would hope your halves would have a hand in a few of them ( even if passing the ball to someone along the line.)
To me the only things that looked better were the Douehi/Mbye swap and McIntyre proving himself again.
Still , I hope we can get it together to beat those despised Rabbiturds.

Unfortunately I think it is the Brooks effect.

Doueihi’s goal kicking was a revelation as well, not sure why he wasn’t there ages ago, he must’ve been practicing for all to see.

I have been saying the same thing, but Benji has some rusted on fans, I loved Benji back in the day, but it ain't 2010 anymore, he is holding us back on quite a number of levels.

I missed the game tonight as was moving house but I am pleased to hear the guy that has a contract with us next year was playing as well as the guy going home.

My favourite pastime, moving. NOT !!!

Mate got some serious cardio yesterday. 33,000 steps, 26.7km, 6,800 calories burned. Didn't feel guilty putting away a few beers after the day was done haha.

And you did it all wearing Lycra ?

Get it right, activewear!

Conversely, I thought it was about 20 seconds and the optimal no risk play in that situation with a play the ball to a set straight line of defence onside at the ready and it worked absolutely perfectly, with no chance of a ricochet or otherwise losing possession. I also assume that you don't know that the referees call time off for scrums.

I wish we could keep Harry... Maybe we need an anonymous backer to offer Cam Smith a huge 3rd party to play on lol. Now that's thinking outside the box. Maybe Cammy needs a mertion apartment to store his boat or maybe he can do some Bryden functions to help Lee out lol

Why not get the anonymous backer to get Cammy to play for us for a year and then get Grant after that..

Certainly an experienced leader..

Do you think Simpkins is big enough to play a 13 role for us next year? Really liked having a mobile 13 with Liddle at 9.
