What is going on with our attack? The Tigers have always been known as an attacking powerhouse. Even when we've had bad years our attack has been impressive and fun to watch. We've never had a problem finding the try line. So what is different this year? I hope Cleary has a plan.
 
Dreadful play from hooker, half back and Moses couldn't care. Cleary has to put people on notice Dragons were pedestrian and made us look weak.
 
Inside the attacking 20 there is one play with 3 variations (1st man, Teddy out the back or cut out). It is as predictable as an encore showing of some reality show.
 
no our attack was next to non existent with the John Morris at half 3 year "experiment"

The last 4 games though….........diabolical
 
I reckon from tackle 1-6cin the opposition red zone you could call exactly what we will do

And if numbskulls like us can call it , what do you think opposition players and coaches can do

We kicked a penalty goal in one game , scored from an intercept in another game, scored from an error in todays game and last week couldn't score in a half of footy

I can't be bothered counting , but how many scoreless halves have we had this season
 
We've now gone from too much off the cuff footy to too structured. We need to find a balance. Confidence is way down & the boys just haven't got faith in playing what they see. Gus I think said we're more dangerous 60 metres out than 20 & I agree. Our strength is 2nd phase play. Keep it simple. Run hard, back each other up & mark man on man.

The off the cuff has become our structure , but you can read that as well

Bloody use Tedesco as the decoy occasionally please …...

And why we don't use Idris / Aloiai running an angle off Moses as our set up instead of the big teddy bear Woods just drives me insane (sorry Ink)
 
No structure, no plan, no options, no questions. When your 4th tackle option on attack is often Sue ambling at you one out it doesn't put much doubt into the defensive line. Defend when Tedesco and/or Moses runs at the line and job done. In three games this year we've failed to score a try from our own steam. Three out of five. Seven out of ten halves without a try that didn't rely on an opposition error. It's simply not good enough.

But all we're doing is the sweep plays happy. Teams figured that out 18 months ago & Teddy has been tripled marked ever since. The only time we looked dangerous today was when Teddy backed up Nofo or the forwards. Even ET's contribution in attack has gone. Way too much 1-out stuff, no inside balls, barely any offloads, etc. and don't get me started on that right side defence, why can they not just mark up 1 on 1?!!
 
95% of the time the tigers kept attacking to the right (the dragons left hand side defence) with no success.Dragons had good numbers and were never seemed troubled on that side,while on the other side of the field there was more space and much more opportunity but they didnt elect to go there.Moses,Mcillwick kept going the same way and didnt have the smarts to change it up,and see it wasnt working.When they did attack to the left,Suli fumbled the kick,tough one to take but would of been a certain try.
 
As said previously our attack is so predictable we also need to collapse the middle of the defence before we go to the edges
