I agree with jirskyr & yourself the nrl Media machine is a big business spewing a LOT of balmain soccer... But our blokes fed it here I'm afraid... As we all are by discussing it.

Note to players don't leak information to the media at the beginning of the week that is meant to be confidential and suggests a division with the coach and players and then expect not to be scrutinized for every thing that goes on after that- innocent or not.
You can't have it both ways because they will sell their soul for a story.

Not once have I heard the Coach say in public that these players we not wanted or not good. In fact in interviews he has praised them both.

How delusion are these reporters as there is clearly an agenda against us.

Imagine how a guy like ET is feeling as he is on way less money and was dropped a lot but kept his head in the game and wanted to work hard to prove himself. Guess what - He is in the team again this week ahead of some players that will be here next year when he won't.. Just backs up Coach statements about if you work hard you WILL be rewarded.

It shouldn’t have happened

Shouldn’t put brooks and garner up to defend it
Should have been Pascoe and lee

Do us all a favour and don't quote Buzz or any of those numpties on 360. They need to generate daily NRL content, they'll provide a sermon on anything and everything.

I'm not interested what media pundits "think"; this issue in particular is a mild item and the club can deal with it however they see fit. Pascoe and Lee already did comment in the paper, then the media asked the players at the presser. No issue.

This forum mid-week has become a knee-jerk reaction centre to the endless and pointless opinions of rugby league pundits, many of whom are complete morons - Paul Kent, Pooper, Chammas, Buzz, Fittler, Soward, Weedler etc. They need to generate content so they are constantly working on nonsense material of no consequence.

I'd rather read the opinions of real forum persons than the flakes who get paid to make stuff up to fill column and TV space.

this has gotten ridiculous. nobodies like Buzz and Crawley haven't shut up for the past 48 hours about this in print and on TV, our usual rent a comment 'former players' have now had their moment in the sun, and over here we have 36 pages. storm in a teacup. what they did was wrong considering the week we had previous in the media, but the whole thing has spiralled out of control.

funny that a negative WT story broken by News Limited is back page news on all their papers? sums it all up. clear agenda against the club and probably got their mail off the bloke that was told to leave last week.

If both want new contracts with other clubs they need to showcase their skills. Being a reserve will undermine any chance if this happening. Being publicly exposed as not being team players does not auger well for them.

Conversely, our club would be happy if they found new homes. There has to be a meeting halfway at some stage. Let's hope this can be resolved quickly as this cannot be allowed to continue for their own well being.

Agree with most comments on here and reaffirm that what is the Club policy with non selected players if they broke no rules its a storm in a teacup for a media frenzy again with negative press against the club all around player contract negotiations.

However in light of the issue blown up should the policy change playing or not you still should have a vested interest in your team and team mates, that all about club culture.

What concerns me the most is who leaked the story was it a disgruntled player, was it the club whoever it was after what was in the news all week should be investigated.

We WON on the weekend and all the press is about who left early and i wonder how many Tigers supporters decided not to watch the remainder of the game because early on it looked like a trashing and with 15 mins to go down by 14 some would not have continued watching, that is there choice and if they did they would have been kicking themselves later for tuning out later, its these wins against the odds we relish the most.

I wonder how this all effects team moral leading into another game that we must win, the Media has a big agenda against us, former players need also not get caught up in it, vent frustrations here and not get caught up in it.

Quite frankly i am more focused now on this week rather than non selected players that are 20/21 respectively because there form currently is not good enough to be selected.

If your honest with yourself most of us wouldnt be having our input in this thread for or against what they have done...
we would of been on a high and happy with the team...
its only the media that has ballooned this whole thing out of proportion....
the only thing that will surely happen is the club gets more professional and outlines to the players what they are expected to do on game day when not selected so that themedia have no come back if players know the rulings and expectations...

Not that long ago I went for a position at the Wests Tigers, which I got but had to turn it down as I really did get an offer elsewhere I couldn’t refuse. The thing is as part of that position, at the Wests Tigers, was that in addition to normal duties I would have to attend game days. The fact that players not selected don’t have to attend game days I find absolutely astounding to say the least. The culture at the club is broken and needs to be fixed ASAP. There is a disconnect between the players and normal expectations.
