whats the matter son is still not in the eels squad

That hit must of sent him back a few dimensions by Packer.

Slimey's handling of his recovery might not be up to standard. Could be exploring options elsewhere

You guys do know he missed half a season with the roosters due to concussions. I was really concerned for him after that tackle to be honest.
I think the slimes will be taking as long as they need, we don’t wish these sort of injuries on anyone regardless of their character.

While I don't "wish" an career-ending injury upon him, I'd still appreciate the irony.

There is a difference between wishing for a career ending injury on a player and not caring and having no sympathy if it did happen. You can’t tell me a lot of our supporters wouldn’t be in the latter category if it happened.

I don't like Matterson, but I wouldn't like to see him finish his career with an injury like that or any player for that matter.

Considering this is a merged Packer/Matter son thread, I'd like to point out that the NRLSHOP is doing us a big dirty with their current product offerings.

Treacherous to say the least...

I thought that was a blow-up tackling rig, get Mitchell Pearce to start rocketing clearing kicks into his noggin'...

Seriously couldn't resist

Apparently if you play with it for a few minutes beyond the scheduled time, it starts whining.

Especially about it's worth

Wonder what it's 20 phrases would be lol ??

Wests Tigers will never make the Finals

Was that Russell Packer ??

I re-watched teh game against the Roosters just to see what Packer was doing instead of hitups. He was in position to take the ball up 3-4 times each set but didn't get the ball. Sometime they went the other side of the ruck, sometimes they passed to a forward standing next to him, sometimes the backs came in and took a dummy half run.

I have no idea why he didn't get the ball, it seems ridiculous as a game plan but it can't be a coincidence. It also does not explain why he didn't come back on for the last 20 minutes.

Was he running as a decoy or just standing in the line?

Wasn't a Captain's knock..

Back to sucking Salary Cap space for Rusty..

Some seemed to be decoys, mostly he was standing to the side and behind the ruck with his hands up showing he was available for a run. One of the times he had a run it looked like he was supposed to be a decoy and Benji turned the ball back inside to him.

I’ve tried to back Packer. I’ve posted a few times that at his best he is the aggressive forwards leader we need. But after another poor effort all I can assume is he is selfish or lazy or doesn’t give a toss. I don’t want him in the team again

Gotta laugh many on here were touting Packer as captain for next season after his one good game and that hit that took Matterson out. A couple of weeks on and we all can’t wait to see him gone again. Let’s face it he has been a major disappointment the whole time he has been here.

His game that night was massively over rated based on who he knocked out. He's rubbish

Russell Packer caused the first try. He was dawdling back to the defensive line when he should have been at 'A' defender. It allowed Tedesco to run straight passed whoever was meant to be the B defender, who was now a very wide A defender (think it was Eisenhuth). Chooks scored a few tackles later.
