Parramatta Cap Investigation..

Reading the NRL statement the eels still have the right of reply. So these penalties could be reduced if the Eels can produce evidence that all is not as bad as it looks. Highly unlikely and rather than fill the legal eagles pockets with gold they should come 100% clean, take their medicine and start from scratch.

Maybe they could employ Humpty and Sheens to run the cap for them!!!

So they also got done for sourcing TPAs - what a joke the NRL are - and of course Brisbane, Roosters and Dogs don't source TPA's - they do exactly what Parra do - source them through organisations setup by and closely linked to the club. But its so much easier to hit Parra than go after one of the big boys.

One question for one person

Fade to Black

Does everyone in the Parra organization get the same treatment that you have given the Melbourne organization ??

It was never proven one way or the other that Melbourne players got under the counter cash payments

They know for sure that some Parra players have received them

Melbourne ran a second set of books Happy, how much more proof do you need than that?

They reckon dropping Watmough off the list will get them under the cap.

$570K they are over..
What about the last fews years they have been cheating

Its so much better being a poorer club and not getting hooked like this
Yes it hurts us when we cant sign players but this is fraud from Parra
and previously Storm

I don't understand how they can say that - they still have to pay out his contract even if they drop him off the books - that amount would surely be still included in this years cap.

Yeh I think the NRL has to approve it.
If so, it really is no pushishment at all as they have only lost points from games they have won whilst cheating. The only punishment on top of this is the fine.

What I disagree with is this fact

The people getting punished in all of this are the 9 clubs that have played Parra already

The punishment should of happened at the start of the 2017 season

This is a good point.

Whilst unlikely, Parramatta could finish the season equal 8th with one of the teams that they have beaten already this season, yet manage to make the 8 based on for and against which they have accrued whilst breaching the salary cap. Those teams were not afforded the opportunity to compete for the 2 points against Parramatta whilst they were complying with the salary cap, which the remaining teams who play Parramatta will. Seems the Tigers and a few others which Parramatta have played already are the ones that have been disadvantaged out of all this.

Not that it will probably matter for the Tigers, but maybe a 1 or 2 point allocation to the teams that Parramatta have beaten this year would be a fairer result for all.

12 points seems like a lazy penalty (Hey mate? How many points are the Eels on? 12? Yeah sounds fair, scrub those out and put them to zero) and like others have alluded to - they can still make the 8.

Shedding players will be interesting, there will be a host of teams not looking to help the Eels out and the low ball offers will fly around.

At least something is being done.

So will the Warriors who were runners up at the nines now be awarded $100,000 prize money?

We should get all 18pts as we held them to 8…

As Phil Gould said a few seasons back,"the Bronco's bench would be over the salary cap".Brisbane under Bruno were extremely suss, one of the purported reasons Bennett wanted out,he seemed to think they should want to play for the Bronco's,not be bribed.
The second set of Books,as in Melb. case, is amateur hour, shows how hard the NRL were policing the Cap back then.

The Eels have been quite slippery. Now most would understand why Wests Tigers management had been so very careful over the past year or two to ensure that the club did not breach the Cap no matter how desperate the club was for new players.

Just saw Dennis Fitzgerald on Fox news, and isn't he loving it. I get the feeling he is edging for a second coming

Parramatta are starting to make the Wests Tigers look good…......................hold on a moment :roll

They have blatantly cheated the Cap since 2013 it says on the NRL site, they deserve everything that comes there way.
The saddest thing for them is they were still cheating the Cap, winning the Wooden spoon and not making the Top 8 while they were cheating
