**“I asked the 16 captains to step off the training field and stand with their CEOs** and it was a pretty simple message — we need to be better,” Greenberg said.

Yeah and how do we do that Toddy?

That was my first exact thoughts when reading. We have no CEO and the last time we knew of who our captain was, there were 5 of them.

Sorry meant to respond to gallagher. But yeah this sounds very stupid from Greenberg.

Providing Inglis with a reference then telling the players they need to improve they're behavior is beyond stupidity.

but, but, but…...................

**What did Greg Inglis say?**

GI’s first thing was to apologise. He said he was embarrassed and sorry for his actions.

**Your decision to give him a character reference for his court appearance last week for drink-driving charges didn't go down well with other clubs ...**

I’m sure it didn't. But he was the guy we selected to be the captain of Australia. I know him well. I've known him for a long time. He asked me to do that and I was happy to do it. If there’s players I do have a relationship with, and I’ve worked with GI with his various challenges, I was happy to help him out. I’m unapologetic about giving him a reference.

Incredible to say the least.

He's a hypocrite of the highest order.
It's almost unfathomable to think that someone as utterly incompetent as Greenberg, is allowed to decide the outcome of our case.
I admit his statement has left me feeling extremely nervous on the eve of our appeal. I'm more than certain that his whole false bravado act means we'll be made an example out of.

Incredible to say the least.

From that I take that he will come down hard on everyone… except his mates.

Exactly. Fortunately for GI, Todd has known him for a long time, so not only can all previous indescretions be forgiven, but the man in charge threatening to get tough over player behaviour, defends giving him a character reference!
How on earth can anyone trust this man to fairly implement rules for all, based on that.

Well after that rant i would think Musgrove and CheeKam won't be with us this year. I really hope a big name player does something wrong and watch Toddy squirm - oh wait i forgot about Inglis.

A very cynical but astute comment there is no way anyone from the broncos or rorters will be sanctioned.Us on the other hand …...

The club has mounted what they believe is an unbeatable defence & have complete confidence we will get our CEO back !
But if the result don't work in our favour then legal action will follow.

Fingers crossed it won't come to legal action POM, but in some ways it would be good to cram it up the NRL with a legal decision reversing their decision.

Thanks very much for the update.I am pleased to hear that we will fight it and if we get a poor result will take them to court

Stay tuned… the next stage of the NRL's new line in the sand heavy penalties are about to hit us AGAIN! " player miss behavior " and its not about Che kam and Musgrove.

Really appreciate your posts Pom. Your posts carry weight in my eyes because you post infrequently and only when you are fairly certain of something. From someone with no inside knowledge I appreciate the window into our club.

That is fantastic news. Personally id like to see it escalate to legal action just so that the NRL learns its place in the world.

One question remains however. How will the NRL strike back, they wont take this lying down. Theyll hit us somewhere else

Do tell, particularly as you state it is imminent.

Lol.. good point . Id rather not say to much at this stage , not a fan of leaking things as that is usually what created the issue in the 1st place.
Lets just say.. Star player , videos, and white powder = big issues for us.
