Ok….. but after living life through the past three years with this Labor government and its stumbling, bumbling schemes and ridiculous policies, I think things have to change or we are in big trouble.

If Labor get back in I hope there is a drastic change because what they have come up with in the past three years has been nothing short of amatureish. They have the ability to change....unfortunately I think that change will mean they'll get even worse.

If Liberals get in there will be obviously be drastic change as they will have to stop the spending, raise taxes and start paying back the monstorous amount of money that has been borrowed.

I just cannot fathom how anyone can support a government that will recklessly spend. I had an idiot workmate of mine about a fortnight ago try to justify that the insulation scheme was ingenious and faultlessly created jobs.

I diffused his confident statement in less than twenty words: "Do you think the families of the four men who cooked in roofs think this policy was a success?"

How could any politician campaign with domestic policy that cost lives and expect it to win them an election? If it pays off I will be horrified…

I truly fear for the future of our kids when our government is so quick to declare success on domestic policies when it results in death…

CB…I could be wrong but weren't those poor souls who died rorting the scheme and using unsafe work practices....

No one deserves to loose their life but I don't think the scheme itself was a bad idea,,,,

It was far from sucessful and disgracefully handled ....I agree with that...

I haven't followed politics as long as others may have, but can anyone tell me has any other government failed as miserably as this current one in the last 100 years?

Im saying we're damned with labor and slightly less damned with Liberal
What have you got Simon?

Im saying that is rubbish.

No matter who gets in,the sun will rise,we will all have a job and a roof over our heads, enjoy our kids and watch the tigers win on the weekend.

We will have enough money for a maccas brekkie and for dinner.

We are hardly damned….......we have it easy here.

But feel free to spread more media driven hysteria.......I know thats all you've got.

Jonesy.....

That was by far the most ill-conceived and tragic of all their work…I agree with your comments CB.
A few others:
Fuel watch,
Grocery watch,
20/20 summit,
CPRS backflip,
ETS backdown,
Stimulous packages,
Copenhagen climate conference,
BER
Mining super profits tax,
Illegal boat people,
Sri Lankans who held the gov to ransom,
Ruthless way they snuffed their leader.....

Plenty of others as well.

I'm not really inclined either way Geo, so it's not a Labor hitout for me. But they have advocated a policy where people have died. One of them in particular was a young man who had learning difficulties and if he was exploited by a higher power than this constitutes as another example that the government fell short in policy execution.

The idea was good, but was poorly executed.

hahahaha now I know that you know nothing. Enjoy the last of the 'we have it good here' - it won't be staying that way the way our politicians do things.

Do some research on the issues in our country at the moment.

Dear Strike,Thanks for the chance.

I look forward to reading more of your stuff Piers.

At least my stuff while lacking content is ORIGINAL.

Imagine being so bereft of ideas that you have to adopt Piers and Jonesy's as your own.

And ur a QLDerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr as well.

No wonder you seem so angry and recalcitrant.

My thoughts go out to you and hope they aid you in your recovery from your awful life.

**ELECTION UPDATE: Green votes go to Labor**

26 Jul 10 @ 01:50pm by SCOTT HOWLETT

BENNELONG Greens’ candidate Lindsay Peters has confirmed that his preference votes will again be directed to Labor’s MP Maxine McKew at the Federal Election on Saturday, August 21.

At the 2007 election, Mr Peters’ preference votes were credited with helping Ms McKew to defeat Prime Minister and Bennelong MP for 33 years, John Howard.

Mr Peters (pictured) said on Friday the Greens had high hopes for this poll.

“The Greens’ hopes on election day is for the electorate to indicate strong support for effective action on climate change, a transition to sustainable energy, compassionate treatment of asylum seekers, and in our electorate, support for social housing projects,” Mr Peters said.

“We hope that the Greens’ values of environmental sustainability, economic and social justice, grassroots democracy and non-violence resonate with the hearts and minds of the people of Bennelong.”

**Mr Peters said the Greens had announced that their How to Vote card in Bennelong would recommend that voters preference Labor ahead of the Liberals.**

“While Labor has done little to address climate change, and continues an inhumane approach to asylum seekers, the Liberal policies are far worse,” Mr Peters said.

“This decision in Bennelong has also helped to close a national agreement with Labor to preference the Greens in the Senate.

**“We are very pleased that this arrangement will help NSW Greens’ candidate Lee Rhiannon get elected to the Senate, giving the Greens far more say on climate change policy, a fair go for asylum seekers and ensuring more transparency in government.**
**“Each voter should note, however, that the Greens preferencing Labor ahead of Liberal is a recommendation only.\
\
“It is your decision how to number your preferences. If I’m not elected, your full vote will flow to your next preferred candidate.”**

I think I will vote for her.

The only thing you were correct about in your assumption is that the Tigers will win, the rest is what I laughed at.

Funny…...I seem to recall u being pretty sure that we would not make the eight.

And great news that the greens are going to help that red haired lady.

Very nice.
