REALISTIC SIGNINGS

Ash Taylor from the Titans is heaps better than our halves at a quarter of the price.

He's contract will get a few extra 0's soon don't worry about that!

I would say the Broncos must be spewing but then again they're got the best halves in the comp IMO :roll

Would pay 100k in a heartbeat the rewards far outweight the risks. And we have rose coloured glasses on if we think we have a forward who can impact a game like him.

Yep you are right - he can impact a game - trouble is he does it once or twice every three years.

Doesn't run onto the ball in attack and wouldn't knock the skin off a bread and butter pudding in defence.

Nice guy, but should be sitting up in the stands.

Sio Siua Taukeiaho.

You'd have to pay decent bucks, but he's worth it. Found out today he kicks goals, too.

He played well, I had him on my list….. Made a few breaks, ran hard and hit harder.

His goalkicking wasn't great but probably better than what we got.

we might be able to get Norman cheaper than his $850 asking price, if this story blows up. then again….

Corey Norman begins night with former bikie, ends it with police

Corey Norman linked to drug investgation

EELS star Corey Norman reportedly dined with a former senior Nomad bikie and an accused criminal before he was allegedly caught in possession of unknown pills at the Star Casino on Friday night.
Parramatta teammate Junior Paulo posted a picture of the dinner on Instagram on Friday night, while Panthers hooker James Segeyaro was also in attendance with former senior Nomad boss Paulie Younan and accused fraudster and money launderer Rafat Alameddine, according to Fairfax Media.
Alameddine’s brother, Talal, is currently locked up in Goulburn Supermax after being charged with supplying the gun used to murder accountant Curtis Cheng outside the NSW Police building last October.
Rafat is also currently on bail after being charged with million-dollar fraud offences.
Meanwhile, Younan is a former senior Nomad bikie boss, who has previously spent time in prison for an alleged kidnapping before charges were dropped.
It is unknown whether either Paulo or Segeyaro were still with Norman and his group when capsules were allegedly seized outside the casino later that night.
Separate reports from The Daily Telegraph allege that several capsules were found in a small container on Norman before a friend claimed they were his.
“Any information that is not in the police media report should be deemed incorrect at this stage,” Norman’s manager Paul Sutton told The Daily Telegraph.
Paulo removed the photo of the dinner from social media on Sunday night.
Norman was with a group of men who were stopped outside the entrance of the casino for a security check late on Friday night.
Police said several capsules in a small container were allegedly found by security staff on a 25-year-old man.
“Shortly before 11pm on Friday 20 May 2016, a 25-year-old man was searched by security officers as he entered a venue on Pyrmont Rd, Pyrmont,” said police in a statement.
“The man allegedly produced a small container holding several capsules. He was spoken to by security officers but was allowed to leave.
“Police were subsequently contacted and officers from Sydney City Local Area Command are continuing with their enquires into the matter.”
The capsules were sent for forensic analysis and police were reviewing CCTV footage of the incident.
Norman was at Eels training on Sunday ahead of their clash with Melbourne on Monday night when Parramatta resume their quest to overcome the loss of 12 competition points due to salary cap breaches and claim an unlikely finals berth.
The NRL integrity unit has been made aware of the incident which comes at a time when Norman is in contract negotiations with the Eels and reportedly seeking $850,000 a season.

Good thread. As some have mentioned it Depends on negotiations with our halves and Farah. I suspect Farah will throw the towel in if new cops a hiding (likely). They should have gone with pears anyway.

Looking at our needs. We need another threatening edge runner (if we are chasing t-Rex Taylor has obvious doubts in sirro).

We also need a solid centre. I hav always had a good opinion of Dean whare but he might be too injury prone. I think people are right about whigton he is being played out of position at fullback and we be a more than handy addition for us.

You can never have too many back rowers/centres/props. As we have seen you can't easily cover centres and edge back rowers with underage players, wingers and props maybe depending on how well prepared they are.

With the halves i wouldn't be signing them to longer contracts unless their attitude is 100%.

If we could off load Farah and lost one of the halves I would throw the kitchen sink at Dylan Napa. Would be a perfect complement to woods and he is something our team is sadly lacking atm.

The talk is Jason Clarke and t-Rex. Both would be handy if their current clubs pick up a big chunk of their salary.

Both off-contract 2016 ..so if Wests Tigers sign them for 2017 it will be full freight…

Clark is just not any kind of attacking threat. He won't break a tackle let alone the line, rarely offloads and all too often gets dominated when he takes a hit up. He'll make less errors than say a Jack Buchanan but otherwise he's not much different (except smaller). He's defensively sound at first grade level and experienced but that's about it for positives. There are better options around for depth signings, options with potential.

Just watched the state cup game again on fox, I would be locking Penni up with the view of him playing in the centres at NRL sooner than Later. He looks like a footballer, he is a very well balanced runner, tall, no slouch in the pace department and seems to have a football brain.

I suppose it will not happen while rush up Kev is still around

I'd take T-Rex if he came cheap. A change of club could give him a bit of a kick up the bum

He has had his day in the sun and motivation is only going to get harder, especially when he is not surrounded by the dogs forward pack

We need some experience out there mixed with youth.
You can't just target the best youngsters or you'll play like a 20's side.

We already have a stack of talented young guys but we're lacking some blokes with genuine experience who aren't over too over the hill.

Halatau has experience but he's busted, Farah is getting o and losing his attacking threat. Elijah Taylor will be our most astute signing in a long time.

We need a few mid 20 year olds in the squad to even the ship and maybe a couple of young guys who could shine but may have played a bit in reserves against men and just been behind some good players at their respective clubs.

Off Contract players:

Centre/Wing - Javid Bowen, Ken Maumalo, Jacob Gagan, Josh Mansour, David Mead, Brenko Lee
Halves - Cody Walker, Isaac John (depth to replace Drinkwater)
Back Row/Lock - Paul Carter, Shaun Lane, Ethan Lowe, Tom Symonds, Kelepi Tanginoa, Luke Lewis
Prop - Charlie Gubb, Brenton Lawrence, Nathan Brown, Paterika Vaivai, Jarrod Wallace, Tim Browne, Danny Wicks, Suaia Matagi, Abraham Papalii

I'd try and snare (because what's a contract these days?):

Agnatius Paasi, Leilani Latu, Lloyd Perrett (out of favour at the Dogs), Dean Whare (Inglis once said he was the hardest player he's ever come up against in the centres), Viliame Kikau, Jai Arrow, John Asiata, Bevan French,
Ryan James, Solomone Kata. I could go on.

My dream realistic signing is RObert Jennings.

Very good centre, with an excellent work ethic, and an excellent defender (especially communication) and Penrith look like losing him.

Jennings can play either side and has been playing right side for Penrith.

We are very poor in the centres, with no depth. He would fix that right side in a heartbeat, let Kevvie fight it out on the wing with Rankin. Id go Rankin, Id be very much in the minority, but I like consistent smart players.

Jennings would be good, but not Rankin on the wing please, surely we can get a real winger.
