Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

All these ex players coming out and bagging the club and it's poor culture… A culture Farah has been at the helm of for many many years.
Moltz 's is a pea hearted coward and wouldn't have the balls to say what he has if he s still contacted

I'd actually started to gain some respect for him, the way he never packed it in despite his injuries. But that tweet was a reminder as to why I could never stand him. Benji's handbag was one of the pin up boys of the old boys club. I suppose you can forget these things about someone when they've been out of sight and out of mind for as long as he has been. Coward indeed.

Great day for WTs, we dump our one player who actually cares about winning, and actually tries to win every time he goes on the field,
We Keep all the ones who hardly make a difference to a game. (The type of thinking that this board is good at.)
We keep the worst Coach in the NRL,
we pay 1.2 million next year to the halves, who have shown very little and still are in the potential category, and may or may not progress further than that,
We resign Lovett after watching him get progressively worst as this season goes on
And we have a forward pack that no one in the league in the entire NRL fears.
We have people here who say that some players will stay with us because they are loyal and love the club.
I hope those players see that this is the sort of loyalty that you can expect in return.

Farah is going to be the scapegoat for the boards ineptitude and the Coaches lack of knowledge and ability.
What a load of crap

Let's not get to carried away ..short memories Farah destroyed the team and a mans career last season because the ego was bigger than the club ,good luck to him poor old Robbie.

A **hard decision** has been made by wests-tigers.
As a supporter whether you like it or not a decision has been made.
We do not know what goes on behind the scenes at Concord.

Bottom line it appears to be a business decision, and wests-tigers will constantly judged / come under a lot of scrutiny to see if it was the correct one or not.

If sources are correct in suggesting Lawrence and Halatau won't be at the club next year, then our oldest player next year will be Kevin Naiqama (who is currently 26 years old) and our most capped players will be:
Woods (103 games currently)
Seumanufagai - if he is re-signed (61 games)
Simona (56 games)
Sue (56 games)
Sironen (55 games)
Tedesco (50 games)
Brooks (43 games)
Taupau (43 games)
Buchanan (39 games)
Nofoaluma (38 games)
Moses (32 games)

So no experience and barely any leadership in the squad.

Farah was going to depart eventually, but it was working out okay that if he hung around for the next 2 seasons, because we'd have a bunch of players nearing their 100th games and Woodsy would be near 150 games.

This decision is going to be very bad, especially if Halatau and Lawrence (who is also only 26 years old) are both moved on.

Quite simple really. The million $$ can be spent better elsewhere. Nrl so brutal now at his age and amount of tackling he's down he's banged up. He doesn't have the pace out off dummy half he once had ( which was his main strength). Cheerington has to be given opportunity or we lose him. Club doing a great job moving on Galloway/Richards/moltzen/ Lawrence ( hopefully). Maybe now we might be able to do some much needed recruitment.

Still cant get over how stupid the decision in letting Robbie go has been. Basically being told to look for another club after being the heart and soul of this club for OVER 10 YEARS suggests why his form has been down this year. Disheartened with a lack of loyalty shown by the club to a player who is our genuine match winner.

Well done Wests Tigers you basket case

Disappointed that Gibbs chipped in with his 2 cents worth. As for Moltzen, he should be grateful that WT basically paid him dole money for the last 3 or so seasons. Surely it is only a matter of hours before deadbeat Fifita chimes in with his own woe-is-me WT sob story. Hodgo basically got told he was free to look elsewhere at the end of '07 but he would have too much class to throw mud ie Moltzen, Gibbs.

Probably why Mayer left - knew it was coming and didnt want to take the heat given the bad blood between he and Farah already. What is really is disturbing is the knock on effect these situations have on the squad as a whole. Saw it with Souths' form when Luke signed mid season with the Warriors, Manly took half a season to recover from what went on over there and in the meantime lost Foran. Clearly Farahs current form is a result of what has been going on in the background, along with the knowledge that Galloway Richards and Lawrence were also being pushed out. No wonder our young blokes are all over the place - they must have known that their senior squad was preoccupied -being shown the door hardly an environment to build a solid foundation around.Still think it is a very bad look for our club and will still result in us having to pay overs to attract anyone to our club in its current state little own retain any talent that we have left.

And to top things off, the guy on the Souths forum who broke the Farah story and is usually on the money with his mail is saying Marty Tapau has also been offered to Souths. Nothing would surprise me anymore when it comes to the Wests Tigers

And you seem to have a case of selective memory where Farah is concerned. We get that you are not a fan but some balance please when you summarise Farahs contribution to this club.

How do Souths afford all these players?

It would be like the 08/09 tigers with Farah; Ellis; Henington; Benji, Lote; Fiffita; Woods; Lawrence; Blair etc (i've always wondered how we fit them all under the cap) etc

If what you say is true… It highlights his attitude... One of spitting the dummy and sooking.... Rather than having some personal pride and giving it everything he's got in his possibly final year.
If what you say is true of course.
Lack of loyalty is ironic given the way he was with Potter

Fifita was on small coin, as was Woods (maybe even minimum contracts)

Lawrence was on half his current salary at a guess
Heighington was never on huge coin
Ellis, Blair, Benji, Farah, Lote probably all on or around the 500k mark

Allowing Sam Burgess and Isaac Luke to leave.

Exactly. You don't move a club legend on a whim. I'm willing to bet this decision was laboured over for a while.

I have faith that the decision was made with some recruitment decisions in mind.

You can't make an omelette with out breaking a few eggs.
If this is what it takes to get WT competitive again then it will be all worth a bit of short term pain for along term gain.
I hope that the club look after Robbie as he "HAS" been a great servant of the club.
Is the reason his form over the last few games because he knew this was happening.
Reports that his management have been in talks with Souths for weeks, this must have affected him mentally and if players are not 100% in the right head space it will cause poor performances.

i wrote an email a few weeks ago and told them if taupau goes then i will not renew my membership.i will keep my word on this.i accept that farahs time is up and the money he is getting is too much for a 31 year old but taupau is young and an outstanding young talent.if he goes to souths then i will not watch any more games live.i will do it from my living room.
