Telltails has a point, I've had numerous people text, email, call me from the wests tigers about my re-newing my tickets, people are not happy mate, i'm sure the club has done their numbers and realised it, "crap, we have a problem".
i'm an accountant and i have a law degree, i do compliance reports on behalf of my clients and i can tell you this turn around today by the tigers is financially motivated. they've realised that letting Robbie go is simply not not applicable in these circumstances.

Yep spot on icon

I have 5 mates in Sydney who won't be renewing 3 of them a Family of 4\. One of them told me he emailed them 2 Months ago don't even bother calling Them to renew and they still did and Emailed them that he was a valued Member, talk about desperate.
They didn't think of the repercussions of all this and obviously Management didn't get the message at the support for Farah at the Campbelltown game vs the Warriors.

Glad there out really. **We are better off without them**.

Who is 'we', and how are we better off without them?
He never said they weren't still going to support the tigers - he said they wont be renewing memberships.
That means they won't be paying any money - and I think that was the point.
Unless you mean 'we' as being yourself and the other 'true supporters'. :unamused:

Whatever you say Chief. You are always right.

Should just stay in my corner Oh! great one.

Have heard that the Brooks family are absolutely ropable with all these garbage rumours and another WT's player is looking for a new player manager

So those rumours about brooks are false.
great to hear!

It's pretty sad. It's even sadder to see the number of people losing the plot on here with wild conspiracy theories on the situation. The first thing to go out the door in this ridiculous thread was commonsense.

greetings fellow fans and fellow not so much fans (of mine that is)

Wow this thread is moving fast.
i go on vacation for a few weeks and 40 poages are added ; -

my summary without the haze ….

they wanted Farah gone .... no really - GONNNNNNE...
said they would pay him out in full or he can stay and play in reserves

now, they want him to sign a 4 year contract with a job at the club when he retires as a sweetener because "hes a club legend ? that they respect ?

Annnnd, they dont or now cant afford to pay him out in full as per all previous public comments.

marty's gone to Manly.
the 2 young halves have balked at resigning an extension.
Both are open about their respect and friendship for Farah
apparently both are being shopped as a pair ?
Uncle benny - like him or not - very influential still. not a fan of taylor at all.
"under the right guidance and coach these 2 boys could develop into 2 of the best halves in the game"
Teddy, the siros and several other senior players and support staff continue to publicly show full support for farah
Taylor has been given a full media ban.
board's support of him is obviously straining
Pascoe - trying to stabilize the club.
Mentored by Phil Gould
and seems to have a ACE in his sleeve - if or when - the time comes.
ACE is a very very close mate of his.
an ex coach actually.
some of you may remember him from his days at the panthers.

if anyone seriously thinks all options arent on the table, your missing something.
there is no way Farah would have been offered a 4 year contract as a good gesture.
there is no way the club will simply let more players walk away. especially the young guns they have been touting as the future.
And lets be real here - if any of you were looking for a job would you go to a company that constantly plays out its absolute disfunction over and over and over and over again.
from the field to the board to the players to the coach....

wow.

Yeah Robbie dragged them there against their will because they are incapable of forming an opinion for themselves about anything. In hindsight probably shouldnt have promoted Farah as a club legend and mentor to them since they began in our system all those years ago. Now we dont want Farah anymore because he is actually a bad influence, might be hard to retrain their thinking, considering they are incapable of thinking for themselves.

ha. Has nothing to do with their decision making. So, you think it played out like this - Girolamo thought it's been a while since I've caught up with Mitch and Luke, maybe I'll set up a meeting and invite Robbie along too.

OR maybe… Girolamo and Robbie set up a meeting to discuss the contract and then Robbie thought, this is a great situation to extend the invite to Luke and Mitch.

Of course Mitch and Luke can make decisions themselves. But that isn't a move from a good mentor.

That's a man who shouldn't be a leader. It's a man with an axe to grind who thinks that he is above accountability. It's a man who after trying to bring down the 3rd coach in nearly as many years, seemingly wants to drag the club he supposedly loves down.

He is the only common factor in the clubs failure over the past 10 years. we've had 3 coaches, numerous CEO's, numerous board members held to account. This drama is finally showing where the problem has been.

He and Ayoub brought this out into the public. It could have been handled discretely like Lawrence was. Robbie is directly to blame. He isn't a victim.

Problem with all of that though…Brooks and Moses were at the Pub with their Holy Cross School mates having a drink ....

Farah and Di Girolamo clandestine meeting just happened to be at the same venue....Media gets wind somehow (hmm I wonder)...and there it is...intrigue

Moral ...don't believe everything you read in the papers...

Seen a lot of Tigers at the HHHs over the years. Benji had his farewell there when he went to NZ, Sironen and Roach families having dinner, the Holy Cross Boys, even Laurie Daley now his boy is at school locally. If the walls had ears.. unfortunately it is very noisy pub these days.

Finally, whatever goodwill Farah was hoping to eke out of this has failed dismally. You look at the other fan forums, no one wants him save a few desperate Newcastle and Saints fans and of course his Tiger fanboys.

All this has done is make Wests look utterly incompetent and Farah look like poison.

Didnt see any fans from any club wanting to go after Ballin either - we didnt even want him that was until of course Taylor signed him to get rid of Farah. Then he suddenly developed a new group of fans. Maybe the same will happen for Farah once signed elsewhere. Fans can be fickle.

On the contrary some fans follow the club, not the players.

Wasn't fazed about Marshall going, not fussed about Farah going. Wasn't even fussed about Tedesco going before he decided to stay.

I haven't had a favourite player since Sirro retired when I was all of 13 years old.

Let it not be said that I didn't contribute to getting this thread up to the 300 mark with this random post.

PS: As valuable as 90% of the others too!

wow.

Welcome back Beauster. Its become common knowledge that there was no 4 yr contract offer. As for the rest of your spiel, its about as speculative as anything that's been written in the 270 odd pages of this thread.

greetings GNRLIFER

im not so sure about anything thats been said or whispered or inferred ….. to be common knowledge

case in point - some people still seem to disagree that Farah was told he'll be playing in reserves if he stayed....... ?

im merely commenting on what has transpired
a little in disbelief
a lot of WOWOWOOWOOWOWOOW

What are the Garbage Rumours though? Brooks has asked for extension before deciding to commit any further.
His an overpaid halfback that hasn't lived up to anything just yet, along with Moses.

from the field to the board to the players to the coach....

wow.

I've missed you bobo…hope you enjoyed the holiday...just a couple of things I question in your synopsis....

1.Is this the same Benny who said ..

Balmain great Benny Elias is the uncle of Mitchell Moses, and he insists his nephew would not only see out his current deal but will be playing in the black and gold for years to come.
“He’s not going anywhere,” Elias declared, adding that he felt no need to remind the youngster of his commitment to the club.
>
“He might have that option, but trust me he’s not going anywhere.
>
“Mitch doesn’t need me in his ear, he’s got a very good manager in Issac Moses, and he’s looking after him like he’s his own son. And they’re on board with what JT and the Tigers are building for, they’re in it for the long haul.”

2\. this so called magical 4 year deal does not exist...Ouote Wests Tigers official Statement...

Farah still has two years left on his contract with the Club, with reports of a new playing contract being offered to him incorrect.
>
“We are looking at a number of options with Robbie, including what role he may play with Wests Tigers once he finishes his playing career,” he said.

I would suggest and just my opinion...The Club is simply covering itself from a full payout...no new contract has been offered..and his existing contract will be honoured until a settlement reasonable to both parties can be reached....It is simply part of the negotiation process...I to notice Farah has not withdrawn his request for a release....

Well whom on this board is captain of the Taylor Team and will concede defeat?

Mate! what are you smokin" up there.

Do you really know what is going on or do you just post a random sentence from time to time - sure seems like it.

When my post was originally made was just after all the Taylor camp here had been gloating how Robbie was gone, only a matter of where, when etc.. Then it was announced how WT had collapsed in a heap and he was being offered the earth and sky. Luckily Anthony Mundine had his old man to toss the towel in for him - unfortunately the Taylor camp here want continued punishment, they are out on their feet.

Don't think so.

The point is, he was appointed the head coach for 3 years. I just happen to be one of those rare people who like to honour contracts and have the second party do the same. Why the hell do we have them these days? very few stick to them.

I don't care if he is a good coach, bad coach etc. we signed him and so we should keep him.

Same with Farah - doesn't mean we have to play him though.

I always appreciate your wise comments, Bobo, but I'm a little surprised to hear Royce "Ace" Simmons would be in contention for the coaching job.

Russell….give it up will you .
You sound ridiculous .

Yeah keep Farah but don't play him :crazy , what sort of value is that to the side ? To prove what ?

Taylor has pooped himself since trying to play hard ball...but didn't think things through if not all this mess that has eventuated would of not happened , if Farah wasn't threatened or embarrassed in playing Reserve Grade ? maybe a different approach would of been taken by Farah and his Manager.

Taylor did say last week that Farah would be in the Round 1 side , a big change of heart from you will be playing in Reserve Grade if your hear and adding the Ballin signing to reinforce your intentions.
