Marshall advised he agreed to $80,000 and Farah to his amount. So are saying these two players are not telling the truth? It's a yes or no answer Happy Tigers so come out with it.

But that's only their word for it mate

Unless they come out with actual factual info , I don't trust them They've been proven in the past that their wheelbarrow's that they push is far more important than anyone elses

Marshall said Farah deserved to be treated better and expected him to dig his heels in and fight for his spot next season.

“We both (took pay cuts). In 2012 the club came to us and said they were going to be ‘X’ amount over the cap,” Marshall said. “In 2012 I think I took an $80,000 pay cut and Robbie took a $200,000 pay cut for two years in a row.

“When I agreed to a five-year deal after that year, that was going to be back-ended and added onto my contract. The same thing happened with Robbie.

“Everyone looks at (Farah’s) price tag and sees $950,000 and says, ‘Well he’s not worth 950.’ Well it’s really 750 and the 200 he took off three or four years ago to keep the club afloat.

“That’s how much the club means to the bloke and that’s how much it meant to me. We were willing to give up our money to keep the club under the cap.”

That's again just what they have said , I don't see a black and white contract ….

Why what until you are leaving to bring it up ?? Strange don't you think ??

Back ended contracts were common and this issue only has become an issue when new management discovered paying out Farah would be extremely expensive due to the back ended deal.

And I guess that raises the question of the timing of the threat to Farah to play NSW Cup. Did it occur AFTER the meeting where the SMH reported Taylor had advised Ayoub that Farah would be paid out. Meaning, did Taylor finally do his homework after the meeting, find out the truth about the back ended deal and then threaten Farah with NSW Cup or attempt to swap him for McInnes or McQueen as reported by the SMH to avoid the full payout figure?

These are Marshall's comments and in the absence of any rebuttal from the club, I think you have your answer. And wouldn't this be an issue for you if the club was attempting to move you on? I'd say aboutt $400,000 reasons.

use your bloody brains....players cannot just walk, god we have some desperates here

Whether the report was wrong is one thing, and that may or may not be true but Paws showed where his info came from and as far as I can see Has NOT lied, and didn't deserve the Comment that he did.
And on your comment that players can't just walk. Does the names Taupau, Austin, Blair,
SBW mean anything to you ?

It was me he accused GCT -dont like being called a liar, but not fazed over his reactionary comments. I didnt lie and anyone who listened to TripleMMM that morning heard it too.

I also posted a link about Friend's reaction to the possible signing and his threat to walk out on the Roosters. Had Farah done the same thing, the Taylor cheer squad would have been all over it.

I'm with Magpiecol on this one,it's the same thing over and over…GEO and Willow must have overdosed on the Valium to keep this going...anyway as Geo said earlier,if they close the thread,it will rear its ugly head in another thread...there can't possibly be anymore left to say or someone to blame anymore.....geez talk about drawn out....

Am I the only one excited about the fact ballin and Farah will be on the same side?

In a time where the number on your back means less and less, having the work rated of both Farah and ballin might mean that we don't have the lapses in concentration in defence.

I do think that Farah has one of the best defensive work rates in the league. With ballin there as well it means that it doesn't entirely depend on him.

If he doesn't have to complete the same amount of tackles he will have more energy in attack, if Taylor prefers just quick service to the halves ballin is probably better at that and when Robbie can see something he can involve himself or can add in his kicking game which is still the best tigers have got.

People need to stop the thinking of I don't think Farah / ballin wouldn't make a good lock. Just because they are wearing a number doesn't mean they need to play like a traditional lock. It is about improving both the defence of the team, service to the halves and still keeping the attack and kicking that Farah provides.

Good Post Bob. They're both quality players. Let's hope JT utilises them correctly.

There is one major flaw in that whole Benji Marshall claim Paws…

In 2009 Farah signed a 4 year extension worth around $400,000 per year covering the years 2010 to 2013, if Farah took a pay cut for 2012 and 2013 for the salary cap, the original contract would have to be terminated and a new contract at the reduced amount signed and registered with the NRL.

It is very doubtful the NRL would accept and register a new deal at the reduced amount of supposedly just $200,000 per year under the figures mentioned by Marshall, well it’s not doubtful, the NRL certainly would not have registered it.

Backended deals

We are fine we are used to it…people have a right to voice there opinion that is what the forum is for.....if people weren't passionate about the Wests Tigers and the issue then there is something wrong ...if everyone thought the same there would be no point to a forum at all....

I would suggest though if people are sick of it...it's pretty simple don't click on it...

Easy to say if u dont like it dont click on it, but to be fair Geo, it's impossible not to click on the thread cos everyone is hoping for that final word on the matter officially. So it a necessary evil to check the thread. Unfortunately with every new post and hope that it might be a statement ends in 5 posts of dribble.

I agree with GEO and Sirro both,I don't have a problem with people being passionate about our club…its when people are being called liars or have a different opinion to others and your either a Taylor hater or Farah hater..that's what I was refering to...

I would say the official announcement will appear on the official website in the press TV radio and on social media FB twitter instagram etc and then make it's way here…pretty quickly but not before it's made official..

Just saying if people are sick of it in the meantime just wait until it's official then re-visit for the reaction if they wish...

Call me crazy, but i think if the thread stays open, which is a good chance, because as long as Farah stays it will be a talking point, this thread could reach 1000 pages. Big call, but i think whichever way next yr pans out, most will pin it on this issue and therefore continue to dredge it up.

I think the thread should stay open. I personally haven't read too many comments that are personally attacking people. I don't like the heresy even if people believe it. I think judging things from afar regarding people's motives is extremely hard.

I will add though that I'm sick of it but I log on each day and read the latest comments.

I'm not sure if Farah will get the blame for a poor season or the credit for a good one assuming he stays. It'll be interesting if he stays, we have a good season and we appear a cohesive well coached team.

Plenty of posters won't know what to do with themselves.

My sentiments entirely … If some fans don't like it then don't come in .... There's plenty of others topics for conversation.

Is Robbie under pressure in any of this??

No …. I don't think so .... I just can't wait to see him play for us next year

Actually I disagree this will probable be the first time in his career that he IS under pressure on many fronts. He will HAVE to conform and be submissive to the coach on all counts ,has a player that is on pare looking for his position and a younger up and comer knocking on the door.I do not see the origin place as a give me there are some good quality and younger players looking for that spot and he is on old legs ..so yes I do believe he will be under pressure and the scenario is will he CRACK! and spit the dummy…

Agree with all of that except his Origin spot. I think that's a gimme. Nsw stocks are pretty low at hooker
