Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

Glad to have it resolved, but its just perpetuating the problem as far as I can see.

I hope Pascoe knows what he is doing.

Robbie is still with us but whether or not he gets to play first grade is still up to Taylor. I don't see that much has really changed - nor will it until one or both of them leave. Or they could kiss and make up….
Nah, probably not.

I'll certainly be waiting for more than a telegraph 'exclusive' before giving it too much thought. How would Ritchie of all people have such a massive scoop on our club? Unless Robbie fed it to him again?

Can't say this is a good outcome though. He can't have Farah and Taylor in the one squad. If Farah stays and is happy to now play a rotational role then ok. I feel sorry for Ballin in that case as he'll be playing nsw cup for most of the season.

Would find it very hard to believe that he'll be here still in 2017\. By then he'd be able to go to the UK. We will have no need for him in 2017 whatsoever. But it would be poor PR to announce plans for 2017 now, so they'll just leave it as he's staying….

IF it's true. Would be a massive about face. But really comes down to the fact that no-one wants him...

… and who do you reckon leaked this?

It definitely wasn't Pascoe as he was contacted by Ritchie and declined to comment….so we are left with..The Daily Telegraph can reveal...

This info doesn't just hinge on Marshalls word at all . it was first reported in the first
Week of the Farah story, and has been spoken about many times since. I've never seen anyone one who questioned the fact that he deferred the payments.
So let's get it straight. You are saying that Farah didn't defer payments from his previous contract ????

No I didn't say that he didn't. I said that clubs rarely, if at all, ever discuss player contracts as they are confidential. I wouldn't be surprised if the club did ask him to defer payments, we've been an epic mess at managing the cap.

Still, the club addressed the reserve grade comments which kind of puts the hole in your narrative that whenever the club is silent it's an admission of guilt.

I didn't say it was an admission of guilt, I just think it was strange that in a case like this , being a major talking point that most people do not doubt is true. That the club would not set it right
If it was wrong then I don't believe that Pascoe would not have simply said that no pay cuts had occurred . That's not disclosing any financial details that ARE part of the contract. And so far he's addressed any wrong info that's been going.
I've already said that I wasn't thinking and wrongly included the two points together in mu original post. You were right on that, I don't have a problem on that!
Anyway it all doesn't matter anymore as sanity looks to be restored

And whether anyone likes him or doesn't, he seems to have done what no one else was capable of doing and thrown some cold water on all concerned.
With the football again becoming the main focus, we may have an outside chance for some improvement with a determined Farah in the team

Benji was the first one to mention $$$$$ amounts…

Neither the Club or Farah ever have...

It was first reported between the 26th and the 29th August in SMH that Farah was owed 400,000 from money from previous contracts after he deferred money, and has been spoken and reported about on many occasions since ,
And I repeat, I have never seen those figures disputed, by anyone, except in the last couple of days by a very few on here .
I think the grapes must be starting to sour.
About time to give it a bone. If you want to keep it up that's fine
But you can do it on your own
Have a nice day

wow !
you would think that with the smallest bit of positive news - there would be a collective sigh of relief
but no…some of you so called fans just dont get it.

like him or not, the way the captain of the club was treated was poor form.
it was done from the coach who did everything he could to turn the players and (alot of) fans within WT and outside - completely off.
dont be fooled - there's not many if even 1 fan out their from another club let alone player that would put their hand up and say - we'll have JT as our coach.
small point some of you choose to ignore. surprise surprise
as for the captain - some of you have even got the smarts to say - no other club wants farah...
completely disregarding the circumstances of it all.
AND now that your nappys are soiled and youve lost your dummy's - your calling the new CEO an idiot too for trying to stabilize the club.

heres to 2016.
better football.

Robbie your a Wests Tigers legend.
I for one am very happy you will hopefully finish a one club man.
Can't wait to see you carve up opponents for WT in coming years.

What a let down.

I was expecting a fight to the death in the ruins of the old leagues club, with the victor emerging with their opponents head on a metal spike, thunder and lightning in the background.

Instead we just get a leaked story in the Tele.

Anti-Climatic end to the saga … or is it just the beginning?

So Farah is 100% staying? Why on earth did we sign Ballin?
If the muppets at the club had thought this through we could have signed Hiku instead.

If Cherrington ends up leaving due to not getting any game time im going to lose it.

Interchanges being reduced we need more 80 minute men.
Ballin will pull his weight.

If he's staying then so be it. The focus should be on the team and not the egos of those trying to win this so called war. Farah is entitled to stay put, but at the same time Taylor had a right to tell him he could explore his options. They both were in the right to do what they did, the way it was handled is another issue.

No matter what happens in the next couple of days, if the club makes it official or not, this saga will not be over. It won't be over as long as these two are at the same club. There's also the wildcard that is Matt Ballin and how he is going to be used. All Ballin needs to do next yr is take Farah's starting spot and it will be on for young and old again.

Yup. Love the "going to keep quiet" quote from him just 6-7 days ago. Hilarious.

I'm sure Ayoub will be on the Tele's Xmas card list this year.

I really liked the England option as I can't for the life of me see 2 years working. I really hope that I'm proven wrong…

Not the outcome I was hoping for, as this ensures WT will be creating headlines (for the wrong reasons) for the foreseeable future - win, lose or draw.
That said, if RF sticks around and lets the halves run their own games then we'll be ok. Sadly, that's a big if IMO.

How about Taylor lets the halves play their own game, Farah let them, it was Taylor who restricted them.

Me too re Cherrington 😛ray: We need to keep him at any cost. :righton:

However I am really happy that the saga has ended re the Farah issue. The longer that it would have gone on would have added to the woes of the club.
I just hope that the team can gel now and get on with what they have to do so that we can put in a great season, as I don't think we are given much of a chance by anyone, mostly because of all the bad press we have been getting - that has been stealing the show so to speak :roll
It looks like good sense may have prevailed in the end. GO TIGERS :sign:
