Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

I'm seriously taking names of the people that are defending these ''credible sources'' and will take note of what their opinions of these hacks are when they come out with some rubbish rumour next yr.

Really… 😱pen_mouth: Don't you have anything better to do GNR . Lol.

I'd be interested to know where the decision to pursue this incident really came from…

Was it Taylor; was it Moss; was it the Board???

From experience, since Moss and the Board arent jumping in to defend Taylor, it's highly likely it was one of there decisions.

Sack em all I reckon... Put Geo in charge!

Geo gets my vote… Absolutely

Right, and so has Taylor. Twice, with 2 different clubs. Though you can be forgiven for not knowing this as he's been heavily promoted throughout this mess as having achieved nothing but wooden spoons.

Has Taylor got a coach of the year award on his resume?

Not that i'm aware of, no. Taylor has never reached a grand final like Cleary either. These are things i'm not disputing, i'm not sure why you bring them up?

I was more interested in this statement

He has made the top 8 for starters

What you are saying here is 100% false.

I agree, you're correct.

Regardless of that statement though, Clearly is the better coach.

You left out the "In my opinion"

Because that is all it is. You are entitled to it.

However that does not make it official in any shape or form.

I'm surprised you have badly misread the support for Farah from among WTs' fans. This Board is not a reflection of the support for him.

There is only going to be one conclusion to this saga. Taylor played a high stakes strategy and lost.

I ain't talking about WT fans… WT Fans will always have a place for Robbie as a club legend. The blind love will ensure that!

Prior to this episode of Wests Tigers Live, 65-75% of the RL community would just shrug their shoulders when asked about Robbie Farah. Now you walk down the street and he gets the same reaction as Sophie Monk. They all start laughing and call him a gronk.

In 20 years time, kids will google RL and come across a photo of Robbie. They will ask there dads "who's that?". There dads will laugh and tell there kids he was a peanut from WT. good footballer, but a peanut.

This is only going to be the conclusion to this saga... Well done Sam & Robbie, you showed them?!

It's a pity that more players don't have the Guts to stand up to clubs. When they get shafted.

With Robbie leading the way and fighting for what he thinks is unfair treatment by the club, and with the RLPA backing him up, i think more players in the future will do the same, if they feel they've been genuinely, hard done by their clubs.
For too long now clubs had it all their own way.
It would also make clubs think twice about trying to shaft a player in the future.

Why does it matter if they are a 'credible source' or not when they are just stating their opinion….?

Because statements like the club will announce within 48 hrs that Farah has a lifetime contract is not an opinion, it's something being passed off as fact. It's 96 hrs later and still no official announcement. It's things like this that make people defending these gossip columnists so funny.

I didn't think we were talking about that? Obviously that is not an opinion… I thought we were talking about the roar article where they were expressing what they thought of Jason Taylor's coaching. Page 322

I dont get the talk/praise for Cleary… He has achieved nothing more than Potter or Taylor.

GET BELLYACHE!!!

Exactly Watto what has Cleary really achieved ,he had the full backing of the Panthers for years ..ok a few injuries here and there but they could put a pretty good squad on the park most weeks.
He has been punted for another coach so IMO i do not see him as a savour just a quick grab for the Taylor haters to be honest .

Before you hang a coach you have to give him a chance to assemble a roster that has at least half a chance to make the eight. That has not been the case for a few years now. As for Taylor he was the one who had the most to loose in the Farahgate drama, so he must really think having a squad without Farah was the best road to take for what ever reason and as a one eyed supporter I am willing to give the coach the benefit of the doubt as i am sick of being a cellar dweller and if by some miracle it works that is great, if it doesn't well at least he tried. Outside his kicking game Farah was average last year and you need a no9 that has a slick passing game and reflexes of a cat and plenty of speed , those days are gone for Farah.

Now it looks certain that Farah is here for another two years, its hard to see how any coach will be able to turn things around because there will be always a cloud of drama hanging over the club

I can see what JT is trying to do, get rid of all the "old guard". We weren't getting anywhere with them so why keep going on that path :deadhorse:
I think we all need to settle down and see what happens with the "new guard" - can't be any worse than previous years, I would imagine that JT knows what he's doing as there is a lot on the line for him too - and the extra pressure regarding Robbie- anyway lets hope we all get a great surprise in 2016.

Let's hope it's a pleasant surprise Tigeress. :supporter:

That's right Mama, if they don't want a 33 yr old player on their books for a million bucks, then don't sign a four year deal when that player is 29, for that amount of money , Thinking that they can dump him off to somewhere else when he reaches the back half of his contract.
It's not hard really

Really? You say all this as if players are cleanskins and honour contracts no matter what. This a month after arguably our best player walked out mid contract. If players are so hard done by and the clubs have it all their own way, why did we release him? We didn't have to. There are many many more examples of players walking out on contracts, it goes both ways. You can't be serious if you think otherwise.

And don't you love the irony of people demanding the club honour Farah's contract, but sacking the coach mid contract would be acceptable.

Poor hard done Robbie the only reason he is still at the club is no one wants the baggage ,what unfair treatment he was told as with many before him and undoubtable many more in the future that he was no longer required as the club wants to go in a different direction in his position ..the only unfair treatment was the way he trashed the club with the help of his manager ..I make no excuses that I believe he should of been sacked last season and for the record if he wanted to leave the club as with any other players in any other club they just walk as the clubs knows to well they will make life hard . Poor hard done by players :bawling So it is alright that players bleed and leave clubs in the lurch but the clubs can do nothing to reorganise its roster Poor hard done Robbie!
