Doesn't necessarily mean we lose them, but he is a huge reason as to why they signed in the first place. How many players around the league have signed because of the coach, and then end up leaving? Quite a few examples.

I'd even guess it's a part of why Luai has his clauses.

My question is why do these good players believe that Benji is actually a good coach? Where is this undying allegiance to Benji coming from? He has no track record for anyone to believe he is a good coach.

He can be the greatest bloke in the world to be around, but it doesn’t mean he is a great coach and I’m a bit stunned that these players are trusting Benji with their careers so much. Maybe they see something we don’t. All I can see is a bunch of potentially good players not really improving and totally unable to play together as a team.

Would be interesting if all players wrote what they like and / or disliked about Benji’s coaching, anonymously without fear or favour tossed it into a bin for Benji to read as part of his training. He’s training himself as far as I understand? Perhaps with input from Bennett and others.
Sometimes he seems to let players off the hook. Latu has been playing poorly and Benji says his main goal is to play 80min. He’s a pro athlete on $500k pa?
