I had my doubts but I was impressed.
Good first up effort.
May be a keeper.

He does tackle well, he chopped down TLolo

Wasn’t bad needs to put on more size

Disagree I think his size is perfect for the mobile lock role.
He’s tackles hard is mobile and can play out the back, everything you want in a lock. He’s a bit bigger than Murray but can defiantly see similarities between the two especially with their quick play the balls...watch out for this kid, can see him really owning the 13 jumper in seasons to come

Great debut and well done to Madge for giving the guy his chance at NRL level...Sam did well and I sincerely hope he goes on to play many more NRL games for us...

I loved his one on one work. Easy to make tackles as a. Second or third man in but McIntyre was cutting down much bigger blokes in one on ones. He was great to watch.

He is listed on the West Tigers site as a 2nd rower, I thought he was playing in the middle tonight after Twal went off.

He definitely was playing in the middle. Garner and Luciano put a good 80 mins in

I said early in the week I thought he was a good selection. I compare him to Garner when Garner broke onto the scene, but I actually think he defensively stronger than Garner. Anyway it’s only one game and against a team not going great so we will need a few weeks to make a definitive call, but with a few injuries in the forwards he will get some game time

The best thing for me, as was mentioned by someone earlier, being the big minutes that he unexpectedly had to put in. Got a pass mark based on the effort he put in, particularly as part of a side with little ball for much of his time on the ground. Good luck to him attempting to prove himself worthy of at least a base contract extension over the coming weeks.

He playing a 13 type role i mean I think We just need a player that that is a big dynamic forward like the big Tongan forwards for roosters or cows 13.

Think Gardner showed he is a better option than Lawrence tonight but still a bit quiet

I’m really like Aloiai atm....feel he is becoming really good, still looking for someone to partner to him tho...Musgrove could be a weapon when fully fit

Yeah. Huth played well and he links well with the back line. But miss that one or two hard running forward.

Yeah, he has always had reasonable mojo with the ball, especially now holding onto it more, though his major improvement is working so much harder at both marker and as an "A" defender than he used to.

Not much mongrel, but nonetheless becoming a forward leader.

Seriously some people just want to complain at everything.

Madge is giving the kids a go, he is actually trying something and seeing what they are made of. It’s important to then make a call if they stay or leave.

I like what he is doing atm with the kids.

That is only worth doing if you are writing off this season. If everyone is accepting of that then no harm in giving the kids a go.

The other downside is that you can't make any judgment on Madge as a coach while our side is full of kids. If these ones are no good and we need to turn over the roster, at what point does Madge become accountable? Next year the replacements will be too young and in need of experience. Good way to either get yourself sacked or aim for an extension without any results to justify it.

Not necessarily having a go at you Harvey, but for YEARS we have collectively been screaming for a coach to promote or sack on performance and give juniors a go. Madge is the first to do it and people complain. The club is going in a good direction.

I am old enough to remember Frank Stanton doing EXACTLY this with some kids named Jack, Bridge, Roach, Pearce and he made Warren Ryan look good.

Was OK ...hopefully when he gets use to the speed of the game he can find some impact in attack in particular

Good point

Madge pointed that out in the press conference, he said like all new debuts he took some time to adjust to the speed of the game, but can only get better
