Was good. His runs looked very promising & liked his defence. Well done & keep the young brigade coming Madge

It was noticeable in the replay McIntyre was driving in with his tackles whereas LL was arm grabbing. LL needs to improve his defensive technique. The speed of McIntyre's play the balls allowed the team to get on a roll.

I remember this tragedy a few years ago. Gives you a new perspective on the young man. Obviously he is driven to succeed.

Thanks for this article, completely have forgotten about this one. I hope he continues to work hard and has success because of it.

Good debut credit where credit is due, he was on my list to punt but couple more performances like that or better and id be happy with him as depth.

Wasn’t bad needs to put on more size

Disagree I think his size is perfect for the mobile lock role.
He’s tackles hard is mobile and can play out the back, everything you want in a lock. He’s a bit bigger than Murray but can defiantly see similarities between the two especially with their quick play the balls...watch out for this kid, can see him really owning the 13 jumper in seasons to come

He playing a 13 type role i mean I think We just need a player that that is a big dynamic forward like the big Tongan forwards for roosters or cows 13.
The cows 13 isn’t exactly normal . He will be a top 10 player of all time by careers end . And the roosters play radley at 13 . I just don’t think that’s an easy get . I like twal at 13 and McIntyre off the bench . Then 2 middles and whatever in the 17 , be that benji , Walters or a Chee Kam type

He is worse the Kyle Lovett. Although I hope he goes out there and smashes it!

Really?

Fair enough. He did well yesterday and I congratulate him. Just from what I saw last year in CC, didnt think he had it in him to become an NRL player. Hope he continues to improve and become a regular.

I’d agree with you Madge, last year in CC he didn’t look likely but when he came out in the 9’s earlier this year he looked like he had worked super hard and changed his body shape. With more time I think he could be and above average NRL player.

He was solid and unspectacular, expected in debut. Statically the same performance as Seyfarth, played more mins so numbers are higher.
He's a bit older and filled out a bit more

It’s the old story, sometimes you get a player who needs to be on a higher stage to perform. Last year in CC he was nothing out of the box, although he was being shifted from the forwards to the backs every second week. I saw him in trial this year and was very impressed. I think he is a keeper and could have a higher ceiling than Garner and LL, but that is a big call after one game, so let’s see him up against one of the contenders

I meant takeako it whatever his name is.

He was fine but he came on when it was 30-0. Just wait until he is involved in our first loss and the forum will be calling for him to be sacked and never play again

Lol, you're probably on the money there.

Garner and Luciano are line breakers though. McIntyre is more workhorse. He's never been one to beat his man or bust the opposition open.

More likely to push eiso for lock while Twal is injured

After one game I have changed my opinion of him. Played well for his debut, hopefully I won't have to change it again.

Sam is starting to make a bit of a name for himself. No doubt he raised a few eyebrows after tonights performance. It's amazing to know there's a bloke in our pack that can really tackle. BEAST.

Definitely exceeded my expectations. Tough and looks to work.

Has gone miles past Lawry and Chee Kam for that small, mobile forward spot IMO.

Kid plays with heart and has one of the best defensive techniques I've seen in a while, when he hits in the ribs, they stay hit.

Going great..

Obviously hard work has paid of for him because at State Cup level he was OK nothing special got played a bit of everywhere somewhat similar to Garner in his early days with Wests...

Had doubts but he has definitely stepped up to NRL level and doesn't look out of place..playing decent minutes too

Well done young man
