Shawn Blore #235

I asked Adam Hartigan earlier this year who were the best talents coming through. He said Daine Laurie was special (we hadn't secured his release yet but he had signed for 2022) and Shawn Blore. He said if Blore is able to stay fully fit, you watch how much he is capable of.

I had a good chat to him at the first Ambush event at Wests Ashfield, good kid. Especially because it seems to me that I can't relate to half the 20 year olds I come across nowadays, so it was good to talk to a young fellow who didn't say "like" or "bro" 100 times and was able to stay off his phone whilst engaging with the fans.

Done nothing in first grade and looks like it will be that way this year,

I want to love Blore I really do. But he is the great white hope around here and I’m sorry but I haven’t seen enough from him to warrant the wraps.

Obviously I want to be wrong, but in my experience you can usually tell whether a player has “it” in his first few games.

That’s not to say he can’t still be a very handy first grader. But I haven’t seen any evidence whatsoever that he’s the circuit breaker back rower we’ve been looking for and he’s been touted as.

Good to see people writing off a 20 year old who's already had a major knee injury

I think everytime he's come off the bench for us this year he's done well, particularly on an edge. Runs really nice lines, defends well and just looks physically strong. I was hoping he would move into the starting lineup soon because he's been playing well

He will keep improving and clearly has plenty of talent and mongrel. He will be good for us 🔥

I reckon we haven't seen him at full strength yet.

The brown clash showed glimpses but obviously hampered by injuries since but he's definitely got a few more gears.

Maybe we'll see that next year.
But yeah, the kid definitely has some potential.

Yeah its all potential at this point for fans, but the original post from @jirskyr was about comments from Hartigan who would have seen much more of him than anyone on here. I'm willing to take Hartigan's word for it and expect to see him break out in the next 12 months when he get his fitness up.

if anyone wants to see a stat that reinforces blores quality, he has 100% tackle efficiency this year. hasn't missed a tackle all year. on an edge. he's exactly what we need right now.

Agree.
I don't think this year will be it for him but hopefully he gets his injuries sorted and fitness and lives up to the hype next year.

He's an exciting prospect for sure.

Yeah he's been set behind by injury a few times now unfortunately but he looks the goods

He has been injured and not match fit.

You need to remember he missed basically 12 months prior to joining us and then ages again this season.

He has missed ONE tackle all season so far and averages 13 meters a carry.

He is the closest thing I have seen to Ellis.

He is the real deal.

13 metres a carry is pretty damn good. He always seems to carry defenders with him and runs nice lines too.

It’s beneath the media department to keep us updated

Maybe they're still waiting to see what it is?

Hugely over rated by WTF. Yet to show his challenge on Nathan Brown wasn’t a one hit wonder.

Agree

Wow, he's overrated by WTF. That's a sure sign he's a geuine star.

WTF.

Packer, why do they bother updating him. Nobody cares and that probably includes himself.

I care that the club has wasted millions on him
