OFFICIAL Sheens gone

In 2020 Kevin Walters coached an ordinary side, they ran last and copped many more floggings than what Wests Tigers did in 2023.
Three years later Kevin Walters is coaching a very good top 2 side which are every chance of winning the 2023 Grand Final.
So in 3 years has Kevin Walters gone from a coaching dunce to a coaching genius, or could it be that almost any half decent coach will get great results with the right playing roster ?

If that’s the case, and it may very well be? Then it highlights another issue we have..we cannot attract the players of Broncos quality and if we do get a Bronco reject we send him packing after he gets a Kelly Barnes. Heck, we didn’t think Reynolds was worth signing.

This isn't true. Seibold was the Brisbane coach in 2020 Walters was appointed in 2021.

NRL love pushing certain narratives.

What better narrative than Benji, coming home to coach HIS club and lead them out of the darkness.

Now that's a story that could sell.
It’s just asking for another Tales from Tiger Town…..

They've made movies like this forever.

All it needs is the NRL to back it like they've done before, with the likes of "The Pride of the League, Souths", "Redemption Story: Penrith" and "Power Ballers: Roosters."

This will draw the fans in, make headlines and be spoken about forever.

Morris in as assistant will be great. He's a great coach but doesn't have the media pull that Benji does.

If Furner is out as Assistant Coach I would go with Dean Pay for defence. Despite a much more average Dogs roster than Barrett or Ciraldo, his team's actually had some heart and could defend. Just didn't have class or talent.
Adrian Lam and John Morris…. Adrian could also bring across his son to play 7 in 2025

The trick is to create a bandwagon effect

A feel good story.

Then the officials know what to do.

The NRL needs a new narrative.

Things are getting stale.

At the end of the day they are in the entertainment biz.

Its WWE scripting most weeks with the nonsense they dish up...

Time for a new storyline to spice things up and keep the viewers interested.

"Benji: started from the bottom now we here 🏆 "

360 honkers writing us off next year, already.

Losing Brooks will benefit the team.
Having a new halves pairing with some actual football ability , in Sezar / Sullivan / Fainu will improve this squad massively.

We've got Api playing 3 positions at the moment, adding some smarts in the spine will make his job easier.

We WILL be a better team in 2024.
I know it.
Yes we will. Screw 360 knob heads

or itll be a slapstick comedy

Does anyone know if Benji’s contract now expires in 2027 or 2028?

Not sure if he’s contracted to be head coach for 3 or 4 years.

We certainly don’t currently have the right playing roster to finish in the top 8, no matter who is the coach.
All our past coaches have contributed to this with poor recruitment & retention decisions.
I’m confident Benji will do a much better job when it comes to recruitment & retention which if correct will allow us to achieve much better results regardless of his coaching experience that many have doubts about.
