Signing Rumours..

So it looks like we've got rid of the cheaper yet (at the very least) equally talented Cherrington to buy Lichaa.

And this club wonders why the cap is a mess. There's a constant here and that is the same blithering idiot in control of the recruitment and retention.

We need someone who knows what they are doing.

i dont think we are signing lichaa unless you have new info

Liddel is the preferred hooker long term. Cherrington was not happy with that and subsequently left, I have no problem with that decision. However Liddel needs to be introduced to firsts gradually and the fact that Ballin's fitness is suspect means we need backup in this position.

I doubt that we will sign Lichaa, given we do now seem to have the hooker position covered. Just my opinion though.

Siro is being linked to Manly again. Like Farah, its probably in his best interest that he starts afresh somewhere else. For whatever reason his game can't go to the next level. Sometimes it takes a change of scenery for a player to unleash. Take Austin and Taupau for example. With Buhrer gone he could be a regular first grader again. Would also help us freeing up a bit more cash. It would be win/win for both parties.

I think someone forgot to actually read the article when it said we were signing a hooker. It's McIlwrick not Lichaa. Good cheap backup. Nothing more or less.

I would go after Tagatese and Heighno in a heartbeat they are exactly the type of players and people we need.
I just don't think we have the money and possibly the draw power The fact we havnt 're signed ET sends big alarm bells.

Its easy to think ET is gone, but if he is, why hasn't another club announced him signing? He could have signed elsewhere a month ago if he was leaving. The more days that pass, the more obvious it is that's he's not going anywhere.

My guess one day soon we'll be hit with a cluster of re-signings and signings - ET, Idris and McIlwrick. It will all be done in one go.

Respectfully Disagree

Hino is a Tiger Hero that as moved on and I have watched Sam Tag play tooo many bad games for the Titans to warrant a contract.

I heard on morning radio that the Raiders Prop is being linked to Dragons for ludicrous money.

1.4 Mil for 3 years…ish

Tagatese has been great at the Sharks as has CH - now minus the shuffle. I too would not have even considered either a while ago but based on current form I would love them on our bench.
A level of risk with both but at the right price for a couple of seasons - both good enough to be selected in the top 17 at the Sharks each week.

Lol at the drag queens offering Vaughn 650k a season! He's good, but he's not that good!

Vaughn could easy turn into a plodder at a weaker club. He is not endowed with skill, just a toiler and the desire to toil can evaporate when your mates do not have the same desire

Given that he took up the option for the 2018 season not too long ago, I just hope that if he goes that the Tigers do not have to contribute too much (prefer that we contribute nothing) for the next 2 seasons!!

Tigers back-rower Curtis Sironen is considering a shock move to Manly after holding secret talks with the club.

If we're only contributing say 10% of his value I think it would be a good move to let him go. If he's taken the option on already he's obviously on good coin and wants the stability given he's not been spectacular of late.

We could move him on and put the money to someone else who'll offer better value for money.

Sirro is one of the guys that has promised so much but not delivered. I would be a little disappointed if he left but it may well be best for both parties. He hasn't found his feet at NRL level and is on big money but it wouldn't surprise me to see him go elsewhere and turn into a star.

Oooooh..secret talks..

Not much of a secret if the Lurker and Mole are reporting it…

If Curtis goes to manly we're probably back in running for ET…..however he was dropped from the kiwi squad so he may be headed to roogby imo

Sironen's potential has never been realized and so at this stage his move is no loss - he barely featured for us anyway. But geez can't they take Lovett instead?

You need to move on the ones playing NSW Cup that are on big money, not the ones sitting at the bottom end of the top 25.
