Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think what us fans need to come to terms with is that Galvin’s gone and most likely to Parramatta.

As much as it hurts to say, he 100% will not be at the club beyond next year. It’s inevitable. The fact they didn’t even want to review the offer gives you an insight on how strong Galvin’s stance is.

So if we can somehow gain some sort of benefit from Galvin leaving, and with that comes in the form of a QLD rep, 80 min workhorse lock like Hopgood who can ball play, offload and hits like a truck then I’d be pushing for this massively.

Better to get the trade done and start building a “team” that we wanna build this club around, which could involve:

1. Bula
6. Latu
7. Luai
9. Api/TDS
13. Hopgood
if you don't give galvin up in 2026 to Parramatta they will have No number 6 to partner Moses they will run bottom 4
2027 Galvin leaves we deal with it then, we can play galvin of bench or at 13 he is only costing us 350k and we can see if latu fainu can hopefully string together some games in the halves

Probably want someone who plays 80 and isn’t completely knackered when a kick is due to be taken. I don’t think Api needs the added responsibility.
Realistically Api’s game time will reduce over next few years as he ages, ideally with TDS taking on more playing time.

Just watched the Knights/Souths game; and in particular the effort by KPP. Because of the comments on here.
Would have been the worst forward in the Knights pack!
Why people on here want him as part of a swap/package deal is beyond me?
What did I see? Arm grabs, no tackle breaks, no side step and not fast off the mark, lazy efforts in defence unless he got in the way of the attackers, just ran as a decoy in attack.
Please, don't let this guy be our next big signing. So many better backrowers out there.
But I do have faith in Richo's and Benji's judgment of talent.

120m in attack, 2 tackle breaks, 1 line break, 38 tackles for 1 miss.

You must hate what you see from our second rowers, because neither of them are putting numbers like that let alone on a regular basis.

Unfortunately I think 30-40 mtrs was from a run when he was sitting on the wing having a rest and the ball came out to him with no one in front of him
The point is he is putting up that or better every week. Meanwhile we have Seyfarth averaging 60m per game.

Is all well and good to poo poo options but you need to put it into perspective. I’d have KPP starting over Seyfarth every day of the week.

You would assume the next month or so will tell us if Doueihi and/or Naden are the right players to be re-signed for our outside backs, or if we have to recruit and let them go.
We would have to find a goal kicker if we let Doueihi go.

I’ve never been too high on either of them , particularly before this year. but at the very worst, they are adequate NRL depth … we only have about 20-21 genuine NRL level players at the team, and these two are amongst them … I would be trying to keep them at this stage for another year…

I also don’t see them acquiring more than 4-5 NRL level players who are currently outside the club and based on who is still available

Wests Tigers Podcast Forum saying a rumour from Facebook reporting souths are chasing Seyfarth, he just extended, sounds like the usual Facebook rubbish make of it what you will.
Big Red is coming into.his best years.

I.like his interview this week where he acknowledged his level of talent vs his hard work.

for me , I’d go Mariner , both Mays (so all 3), KPP , Hetherington , Young .
I’d let go of Staines and maybe Naden , deepening on Value of contract for Naden .
I’d also go hard at Reynolds/ DCE with the primary objective being to be a placeholder and feed as much info into Latu Fainus head as possible . Specifically around kicking .
Based on tonight Staines has more use than Naden
