A few nervous breakdowns will be had if Hastings isn’t 7 methinks.

Always thought of him as filling a ball playing lock role if not the 14 to take over from Mbye, though will be surprised if he isn't playing in the halves to open the season due to Doueihi's ACL. With Adam not meeting the expectations of many when playing there, I would now be unsurprised if Jackson remains there with Doueihi at centre.

This ideal of him playing lock is fantasy...
He can't tackle and is slower than Twal.

Hastings hasn't been bought to the club to play a position he's never played!!

- Hastings won't be a 13 at this club next year - Or any other club anytime soon.

I hope that's cleared my statement up for you....

We'll put him there just for your argument
- See what you like about his tackling then...

I guess the hooker defends on the wing?

Really a downvote?
What part of that question was debatable. And not the sarcasm part.

WTF are you talking about....
This whole text has been about Hastings being bought to the club to play lock (Jersey 13)
I stated simply, more than once (so I thought) That Hastings isn't a lock, hasn't ever played lock, and hasn't been bought to the club to play lock...

It seems everyone is actually arguing my exact point with me...

I’m confused, on one hand your saying he won’t play lock, then further in the conversation your asking if he’d make a good ball playing lock.

Either way, you said he has never played in the middle well half of his ‘47’ fg games he has played as a backup dummy half. He has played in the middle.

Woods doesn't add anything to our pack. He's slow and a bad lateral defender - we've got Twal who is good at everything Woods is good at but better, same as Seyfarth and Tamou is another Woods type forward

We need another Mikaele type forward who runs hard and offloads, not another Woods. A very sideways move

I wouldn't use Mikaele as my prototype but yes was are short at least one forward that has impact in attack and defence, not another metre eater that is a workhorse in defense, but provides little impact.

Not Mikaele as a whole but when Mikaele feels like Charging onto the footy and producing good offloads, that's what we need more of ?

No I agree with you fully mate. The top sides have 2 or 3 really damaging runners of the football, we have about 0.5 in Mikaele. That .5 is the most important thing we need to add to this team.

Guys like Twal and Seyfarth are good but they aren't big physical game breaking forwards. Like you said the top teams all have a guy or two like that. We need a JWH type prop

I'd just like a forwardwho breaks theline - doesn't need to be a prop.

I have seen enough of Seyfarth this season to think he is a game breaking forward huge upside with him , he is improving every season that in itself gives me that impression. Alex not so much but he has his own characteristics he is the defensive forward and his stats prove this !

Good contribution.

Young Daniel Sykes who played a few games in NSW Cup is also impressive. He also has a willingness to get stuck in and make life uncomfortable for opponents. Both Sykes and Seyfarth are local juniors which augers well for our junior development.

Is Sykes on the smaller size forwards?

I'd estimate he'd be slightly taller than Cam Murray. He is suited to the game today. He hits hard and runs it hard. There is a lot to like about his spirit. I hope he comes on as we could do with his talent in the NRL team.

Whose younger and or the better talent? Perry or Sykes. In some footage it seems as though Perry is more the build of a prop. I’ve seen both play and admittedly regularly get them confused. Can’t be the only one.

IMO both are very talented. Perry's junior football on the footage I have viewed is at prop. He seems to be a high impact forward, of the type we need in our NRL team. I really enjoy watching both play. That is the great benefit of having strong junior recruitment.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but had the halves worked out this year I wouldn’t of been shocked to see him be transitioned gradually to a ball playing lock in the form of what Moses MBye was playing when we had a full side.

Now with the halves shortage I’d say we’ll see him in the halves

My initial reply (More than once - to spell it out, again) were that Hastings IS NOT a LOCK - And HAS NOT been recruited to the Tigers to Play LOCK, And won't be Playing LOCK at our club or any other - Any time soon...

Thanks for your support....

Gee thanks... unfortunately quotes don't go back far enough to see what you said 10 posts before so sometimes things can get taken out of context.
However, just to re-iterate, my original comment to you was in regards to your saying Hastings can't tackle and is slower than Twal... not about him playing lock.

Why would Laundy worry bout getting Woodsy a start at Tigers , you would think he would be more concerned about his Dogs , sounds like more telecrap

He knows sponsorship won’t get him any say at the Dogs with Gould in charge. Our sponsors become chairman.

Lol - you’re bagging a bloke before he has even played a game.

We'll put him there just for your argument

I doubt he’ll be playing in the middle.
He’s coming to take Brooks job.

No it wasn't - It was a direct response, To my direct response.. Where you asked if I was a fan of the halfback?
Weather I am a fan of our halfback or not has nothing to do what I said...
So I'll say it again,
We haven't bought a career Half to the club to play middle forward..

You're certainly not on your own, That seems to be happening to everyone...
I got tired of repeating that Hastings isn't coming to the club to play lock...

The latter is sarcasm - If you can't beat them, Join them.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but had the halves worked out this year I wouldn’t of been shocked to see him be transitioned gradually to a ball playing lock in the form of what Moses MBye was playing when we had a full side.

Now with the halves shortage I’d say we’ll see him in the halves

If the Halves were working this year - We wouldn't have signed him, No question.
We're short of Outside Backs and Back Rowers.... If our halves had any showing, We wouldn't be buying more of them.

Well there is Hastings utility value .I don't know about lock......He can play halves, fullback and hooker from the recruitment managers mouth basically replacing Mbye for ha;f the price..was a major reasons he was signed..He has played Fullback for Wigan this year on more than 1 occasion..

But agree he will start in the halves given our current squad and injuries
