Throw the kitchen sink at both Lomax and Harry Grant to be the future of this club. Be aggressive and make them both our targets and offer them as much as we can, both reportedly keen admirers of Madge and the Wests Tigers (bringing one could attract the other to come) - alongside Laurie, Doueihi, Stefano, Blore, Luciano and Twal with some good pieces like Ken, Joffa, Talau, Nofa and Mikale

Bring in some nice young forwards, I’d like to look at Spencer Lenui, Helem Luki and Franklin Pele.

Then get Brooks out, put that 700-800k towards a good halfback that comes available and all of a sudden we’re a threat for the next decade as they’re all young - think the biggest question mark circulating around our whole squad is who wears 7 bc Hastings hasn’t proven anything yet

If we managed to get to the point of actually having Grant and Lomax, along with Douehi at 6 and Laurie at 1, you could actually probably just run with Madden tbh. He is a quality game manager. People around here think he's a lot worse than he really is. He's got a lot of potential.

I don’t mind madden but his games didn’t really stand out as a game manager in first grade needs more of an opportunity. Honestly I just want someone who can get a repeat set

Liddle on his best day is Hodgson on his worst I would much rather pass liddle on get Hodgson in mentor simpkin you have robbie farah and Hodgson mentoring a young hooker he could be the next big hooker in the game along with Harry Grant

You still need to have the talent ......

Just because Hodgson and Farah are mentoring Jake doesn't necessarily mean he automatically becomes the best hooker in the hooker or even a Top 3 hooker in the game

One of the best mentors the Club has known is on his way back. It doesn't matter if Liddle is or isn't off Maguire. The real top dog in town will arrive shortly. I can't wait to see the impact he will have on our players.

I believe Liddle to be a very fine player.

I think he was born in the wrong era mate ...late 80 's early 90's ...he is very Steve Walters like ...but I think your modern hooker needs to have speed and be creative .....

If Jake has those attributes ...he has left them in his bag of tricks

I'm not on board with Liddle yet either ......last year was a big improvement ....but we need more ....much more

People are forgetting that Hodgson had a massive blow up with Ricky Stuart this year. Critiques of Hodgsons game by Stuart ended up being repeated almost to the word by one of the fox guys. That’s why he didn’t want to be captain anymore because he lost trust in his coach. I’d be very suprised if Hodgson is a raider next year. With a clear head space I reckon he would be an amazing signing for us . Liddle had his chance this year and he was terrible.kept getting gassed, terrible service from dummy half. Hodgson would be a massive upgrade.

Yep Hodgson finally fills the void Farah left , tough and experienced make it happen a major step forward !

Just what we've been crying out for: a 30+ player who hasn't been good for a couple of years, has injury history and is looking for one last payday. It's worked so many times in the past, after all - let's do it again! Give him four years!

With the addition of Peachey and potentially Hodgson I think madges idea is clear and that’s to fill the squad with as much experience as possible and start the year off with them because he knows the first few months of the season are imperative to his survival. Start the year off with a bunch of youngsters filling up the last few spots and will get torn up every week and Madge won’t make it to origin.

I think he’s demonstrated the talent . The issue , for me , is Simpkin has issues executing plays at times, and playing dummy half by numbers . This can be fine , and just youth, or it could be likeBrooks, in that the play by numbers becomes the play period .
I wonder where brooks would be if sheens had stuck around . Say what you will about sheen’s flaws enabling boys clubs , sheenius strategies , fighting with his bosses etc. but stifling the growth of elite juniors was not one of them .
So putting 2 legends of the position in the club can’t be bad for Simpkin to learn off .

Grant born in Rocky and grew up playing for the Yeppoon Seagulls. Played a bit for Sunshine Coast Falcons as well whilst finding his way into Melb's firsts set up.
