Interesting comment from Mark Spud Carroll on SEN last night. Carroll said he went down to training and wanted to give some tips to Packer on what to work on.
Packers response was “Its OK mate I know what Im doing”
Carrolls response was…“Mate, you are in reserve grade!

I'd be disappointed if any of our players took any advice from that halfwit.

Just some retention updates:

Jacon Liddle, Tom Amone & Zac Cini have 1 year deals now on the table for 2022. Liddle's management want 2 & wouldn't surprise me if they add the extra year, Bulldogs keen on Liddle also but he seems to be a back up if they can't land a big fish like Smith or Daryl Clark.

Early days but a 2 year deal being discussed for Thomas Mikaele, Panthers & Raiders also interested.

Chee Kam won't be retained, at least not top 30.

Club in no rush with Seyfarth.

I'm not sure Luke knows what he is doing either.

He literally can't even kick a grubber. You don't suddenly lose that because of a new coach, mentally he must be all over the place. He played well in 2019 for madge which a lot of people forget

If you haven’t already noticed Paws has an affinity for Mild Mannered, new world coaches like Ivan and very much unlike Madge and Bellamy.

Tbh personally had no real issues with how he coached, and especially liked how he worked our youngest players at that time - i.e. Marsters, Suli - but I think it's where his forte lies and we need that Bellamy type.
Think Sheens was quite similar in his approach with preparing them for the NRL, in that they know it's all just a game of opportunity.

Even bellemy has is allowing more attacking footy. It our attack has to be less predictable

Negative. Bellamy still isn’t concerned about the free flow attack. If you look at some of their past teams, they certainly aren’t as expensive in their attack. It still comes down to the players.

Exactly....for most a focus on "attack" means "free flowing, let the ball sing" play a la Tigers 2005. For Bellamy its not about that, its 100% about lots of players in motion, pushing up around the ball. ITs NOT free flowing, but its high paced with options and an offload means success more times than not.

You can only shout, get angry and have a tantrum so many times before it loses its impact and players don't listen. When that happens, there will be some bother.

Ivan was just interviewed on Ch10 news concerning the potential loss of more players and officials from the Panthers. In his laid back way he said we will deal with it. And you know that he will.

So Pom has said Mikaele has an offer on the table from us, Penrith and Canberra. How would we feel if we lost him?

I'm a bigger Tommy fan than many, it seems, but it would not be a good look for the coaching or R&R if another forward we'd developed, like Aloiai, leaves. Yeah, there's guys in NSW Cup playing well...it'll take them a few seasons to be capable NRL players, if they make it at all.

Also, Liddle just a 1 year extension offered. Exactly what is our plan if Simpkin got injured next season, assuming the mail that Mbye is leaving is correct? Do we have anyone close to his ability in reserves? We don't.

I'm a fan of making smart offers to players but also feel that if we're the least desirable club (Brisbane might be even less desirable, depends on the performance that week) then maybe we need to make sure we keep who we do have *or* start offering a little over to get players to come to us.

Actually thought Mikaele was having one of his better years hitting the line harder then years past
Defense is still suspect (but so is the whole teams)
