thought Fafita was well handled

150 m and 8 tbs with 50 post contact meters says otherwise

This shows how people don't watch the game. Sure he killed us but it could have been a lot worse. The guy is a freak. Mbye was running in and at least slowing him down. He didn't cut us to shreds but only because Mbye was slowing him down and other players could bring him down.

Mbye is a terrible marquee player for us. We need so much better. That doesn't mean that he should cop it for doing a decent job in some aspects of his game.

Ritoe.
So our two backrowers run for less than fifita combined and he runs for almost the same as both of our two backrowers in his post contact meters.
LL : 68m 21pc
LG: 60m 30pc

Let that sink in.

Do Luke Garner and Luch combined earn as much as David Fifita?

Fifita also plays a very different role. He takes far more hit ups than our backrowers

Anything at this stage is worth a try, at present we are going nowhere. I would try Brooks an Madden in the halves, and AD at centre, see how they go, at half time try AD and Madden in the halves and Brooks at centre or lock .

The only place i'd LOCK Brooks is in the video review room at training and make him repeatedly watch how to dive and ankle tap a player that he is a meter away from.

Geez that was frustrating! So little awareness/effort. Yes he was chasing, but never attempted to make the tackle.

Not or gloom and doom...remember Madge has players ringing all the time enquiring about getting a gig!!

My guess they are just getting a free valuation to use as a lever in the market place.

Be nice if we had more than Hastings in the bag for 22

Yeh I bet it is ringing non stop now after all the whole hearted performances he has got the blokes up for lately

I don't know why everyone wants to move Doueihi. He and Laurie are our only attacking threats.

I certainly wouldn't move him out of halves, but think he could handle 7 and add some value in that space.
Even more so if we go back to left and right which also allows more early ball for the centres.
He also appears to be our vocal leader out on the field

Surely were having a crack at Nicho Hynes, wants to start.
Play him 5/8, Douehi to 7. Play left and right and can play 1st and 2nd reciever for set plays when desired.

Douehi been 7 as he takes it to the line will open up plenty of space for Hynes

We would be mad not to.

Hynes can even play 7

We have invested in talent in the lower grades. Why would we block their progression with bit players from the Storm. He is made to look better than he is with Munster, Hughes, Papenhuyzen, JAC, Smith and Grant around him. Put him in our team and he will be exposed.

I agree, personally I don't see the fuss with Hynes. Does his job at the Storm, but they're next level with their coaching/playing structure.

Must be the long hair.

He is a quality player who handles pressure, can ball play and also score himself. Gets around the field with ease and can play 1,6 or 7

no to Hynes. he would struggle behind any forward pack that is not in the top 4. it seems as if the club isn't looking for a 7 as ridiculous as that sounds.

Wonder if the doggies would swap Mbye for Flanagan? He's obviously on the nose there and I assume that they still have some love for Mbye. We take over Flanagans contract and they take over Mbyes. Means we save a few bucks and both teams SORTA win.

I wouldn’t take Flanagan junior without his dad as coach he struggles without him but goes alright when his dad coaches him

I saw his dad coach him in reserves once at lidcome oval they have crazy communication and signals through out the whole game

Flanagan would be no better than Brooks behind our pack. We should only be looking at players who are "competitors", winners who hate to lose and play at 110% every week.
In my view we should be throwing the house at Brandon Smith, Finucane, Nathan Brown or Sua, a genuine winger and a centre. These sort of guys will lead the way and lift our up and coming young blokes with them.

Re Finucane - IMHO he should be 6th in the packing order:
1 Taumalolo
2 Murray
3 Crichton
4 Ridley
5 Graham
6 Finucane

he's won more premierships than the majority of that list.

All good options but can’t see 1-4 leaving their current sides or wanting to. As well, I think Finucane has the relentless competitiveness that we need, over Graham.

We lack the clutch, hard edge back rower that pretty much all the good teams have. Same goes for the prop position.

Its our biggest issue imo.

We need a Wade Graham, Cameron Murray, Isaah Yeo, James Fisher Harris, Jason Taumalolo, Tyson Frizzell, Jared Waerea Haregreaves, Boyd Cordner Jesse Bromwhich, Dale Finucane, or Jake Trbojevic type of player.

these guys set the culture, they set the standards and they lead the way.

Our closest is Joe Ofahengaue. He is a B grade version but does lead the way.

Recruitment priority should be to strengthen this area of our squad with guys who can lead us going forward.

Is cordner off contract?
I do wonder whether we could temp him to come across and lead a young side.
Rooster may be more keen on keeping Chrichton as there is more longevity there.
But a fit cordner for a couple of seasons is something I wouldn’t think is possible therefore I didn’t even consider it.

Finucane hardly does anything for us but those 5 players would be great.

I wish this caliber of player would consider WT

Cordner is one head knock away from retirement.

He could only help this rabble of a senior playing group.

That said id rather try and identify the next three or four guys who are capable of being this type of player and recruiting them.

Nat Butcher would be where i start, hell of a young player.

Go for the value.
