Agree.. We need depth and JTJ is great for min salary and if he gets some good players around him he could go well.
Another player I was looking forward to letting go was MCK but for a lower salary he just seems to do his job where ever he is asked to go. Unless the club has other players coming in to replace him... Ha Ha

First time I've joined the chorus but Nofa has to go next year regardless of cost. No serious team would put up his style of play. The Sharks two are the type of winger needed for the 2021 game.

If they can't get rid of Noffa. I would tell him now you will be starting in reserve grade next year.

A new coach should have the opportunity to test the squad and also have the full available salary cap to spend. A new coach also opens up the possibility of attracting players who won't come while the current coach is at WTs.

On another note, we have to look at restructuring Stefano’s contract…’Look, you’ve been playing out of your skin and we want to reward you but we also want you here long term…You’re on 250k. Here is an extra 100k per season and we will extend you for 3 more years at 500k plus bonuses if you make origin etc’

His manager would be a dope to restructure his deal now. The more he holds off the more Stefano will get paid in the future, hold off another 18 months and he'll be demanding $500k+ a year

He is on peanuts next 2 years and if we upgrade him on those 2 years plus add another2 years he would end up in a better position then staying on the low salary for the next 2 years.. He also seems like a loyal guy and hope he feels we are slowly moving up.

He's on about 350k next season. Not exactly peanuts for an inexperienced young player
And why is it everytime tigers sign a good player to a contract which benefits us we suddenly feel obliged to double their salary as soon as they play well.

Leave him on 350k next season, upgrade the final year to 500k and offer 2 more years at 500k plus bonuses

I thought he was on around 250-300k but if its 350k that is still a great deal for us...
I understand what you are saying but for me he is playing better than a player that is on 500k and if we look after him now he remember this and helps us retain him. Can you imagine if he progresses further next season like he will that will only increase his price and also the interest of other clubs that will also drive up his salary. So offering him an upgraded deal now (while we have money) will be cheaper long term then waiting another year and his value increase even more. For me that is rewarding him and the club

He signed a 3 year deal worth a million. Gradually increasing each year. I'd say what he earned for this year was about right. Slowish start but has improved. Upgrading halfway through the next year if the contract, March April is about right. He still has to sustain his momentum, keep improving and working and if he starts the season off dominantly then give him a boost

Coach might not be perfect but their are many reasons star players dont want to come to us and changing coach wont fix that and hasnt for the last 40 yrs

I have no idea , but no one in the last 2 years that’s come on the market not named Lattrell Mitchell , would have moved the needle at all, and most would have put us back a few years .

I agree with this.. He is the player that we needed. He is a top 5 player in the comp who has an impact.

The only solution to this problem to me is continuing playing moneyball with a focus on talented players. That means junior or development players like Stef, Blore and Laurie.

If we can sign players like Latrell that is awesome but we seem to struggle.

I'd be more inclined to go hard at guys like Burton.

Yea exactly . The funny thing is , where we stuffed up originally , when the team is good eventually , then that’s the time to really knuckle down in your juniors , that’s where all your resources should be going . So that when that existing premiership window closes , you replace it with another . Hello Melbourne storm , San Antonio Spurs , Tampa Bay rays , Oakland As etc. That’s what all those teams do extremely well . You just need that first success though .

I agree. Therefore Madge should have the chance to coach with the full available salary cap to spend - which he's only really getting from next year. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

4 Hymel Hunt or some one
5 Kane Bradley

Instead of BJ, Jet, Others.

Madge will have to play with largely the same roster next season. Unless there’s drastic changes to the coaching staff and Brooks is moved on, Maguire will be sacked 4-5 weeks in. We haven’t signed anyone of note and the proof is in the pudding that Maguire can’t use the current squad
