Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don't want to settle for mediocre performance what do we have as class players Backs Laurie,Naden, Nofo, Douehi,Hastings and Kenny if he was 100%fit .Toa a maybe and Hastings could be gone for 9 months so we need at least 2 more here
Forwards Papalii, Api, Stefano, maybe Pole so we are well short here
I know we should be progressing some from lower grades but I'm suspicious of our NSW cup squad as their defence is diabolical and aren't our Ball Flegg guys too young?
The way I see it is some of our forwards like Blore and Musgrove might go great next year with other stronger pack with them but whichever way I look at it we must recruit 2 top tier backs and 2 top tier forwards as our squad needs to be about 25 good players not 17

Young wrong in part. The squad needs about 15 great players the other 15 can aspire to be great.

Who cares if injuries derail your season. The key is to have enough quality in the game day 13 that will offset the loss.

What’s the point of having Steph, Tamou, Musgrove, all on near enough the same mid level range when all you are getting is mid level performances?

Is it really necessary to have two guys waiting in the wings that can produce the same output for value?

I might be going a bit unfair on Steph here and there is certainly upside but I hope you see the point I’m making.
All three don’t replace 1 Payne in the Hass.

His disclaimer will be, at the time of saying that we were talking to big Jimmy Tamou about next season & Zane Musgrove was under contract. Hopefully Tom Mikaele gets in es Zane's ear and tells him he will be a god in Super League and a UK Club takes on his contract. That's 2 middle spots right there and who knows if Joffa will take his MO, which could bring it to 3.
There’s no point getting rid of musgrove or any other forward unless we can get better , lodge and klemmer would do us for the next 3 years , we need mongrels and they fit that bill

Give me 15 minutes in Campbelltown mall, I’ll pick out 5 better performers than him. And I mean it. I would like Latrells brother over him, and he’s overweigh, don’t know Zane’s problem. Hes absolutely hopeless. Madge fav.

You might be right about the mix between great players and potentially great but some of our forwards are not even potential .I just wish we could land a few more top signings and not other clubs rejects

Yeah, fair call. Not sure if it's Matt Lodge though. Would love JWH for the last two years of his career. Don't like him as a bloke but he's a forward leader for sure. No chance of getting him though.

Warea Hargraves would show them how it's done....
He's massive!!

Highly unlikely but Just seen some Brent Read quote, “Stephen Crichton would love to be a fullback” then said something about the bulldogs would be an option so my brain switched off as soon as I read bulldogs, but might as well bring some chat to the forum it’s been pretty quiet….would you mob throw coin at him to get him over to the tigers ?

Is this full strength 2023 ?

1 Daine Laurie
2 Starford Toa (Nofo, IF he returns)

7 Jock Madden or Luke Brooks
8 Joe Ofahengauie
9 Api Korosau
10 Stefano Utoikamanu
11 Shawn Blore
12 Isahia Papali'i
13 Jackson Hastings

14 Alex Twal

17 Alex Seyfarth / Tommy Talau
Great post @Demps

Good to see in one place how the team could be. Confess to not being overly excited by it, but then it's only on paper...

From memory, there really isn't much out there coming available for 2023.

Hopefully they get Bateman. I liked him.

I think the beast from the sharks - Hunt - should be looked at. He looks like just what they need.

I'm really hopeful Talau will bounce back and remind us all what he can do.

Unpopular, but I'd rather To'a at fullback than Laurie.

TS's (Hopeful) Team *
* not to be named the turnstiles!

1. Toa
2. Kenny M
3. Talau or Doueihi
4. Naden (can't play wing - has no idea what that white line next to him is!) or Doueihi
5. Kepaoa
6. Hastings
7. Madden
8. Big Stef
9. Koroisau
10. Hunt
11. Papali'i
12. Bateman
13. Ofahengaue

14. Twal
15. Pole
16. Blore
17. Musgrove

18. Matamua

I reckon that's not a bad pack... Wishful thinking, yes 😉

I also think Hastings is essential to the team and should be no. 6.

I don't think Doueihi has really shown he is a great 6. Tricky situation because he is off contract at the end of the season isn't he?

He hasn't really had enough time to show what he can bring consistently, but came out saying it's 6 or nothing (hearsay) and I don't think it was a wise move. I think he's only worth centre money (right now) and at the moment that's where I'd play him - whether he likes it or not, I think he'd serve the team better as a centre.

He has his moments, but I think he's put himself and the club in an awkward position contract wise. I think he and his manager might have a higher idea of his worth than any club would.

But I don't know. Just putting it out there.
