I also noticed Twal seems to be one of our only props who starts from the back fence with his hit-ups. He might not make massive post-contact metres but he certainly holds his own. Would be ideal if he could develop an offload. To be fair, as much as fans like to label Twal as a 'plodder' you could see the difference in the defensive effort in the middle after Twal was injured. He's not you're athletic powerful front rower we all love to see progress over the advantage line. He won't be the direct reason you score a try in a game, but he will be the guy who prevents 12 being scored...
Every team needs a mix of both. The problem isn't twal.
That may be so but interesting their decline occurred straight after the jersey saga.I dont think so,
Just an excuse
Factions in Manly didnt like Des having so much power.
I will have to watch WT games more closely coz I really can’t remember Twal coming of the back fence.I also noticed Twal seems to be one of our only props who starts from the back fence with his hit-ups. They set KPIs and he didn't meet them - good to see a club stick to their guns. Having said that all i can add is PUNT MANLY.I can't believe that Manly sacked Des Hasler. We are no longer the basketcase of the NRL!
I'd be worried if i was Hook or O'brienWell he'd immediately become the only one in the coaching staff with recent NRL coaching experience.
Twal is consistent. How many players in our team can you say that about?Twal isn't a bullocking line breaker or anything like that, but he will be as integral to our success as an impact prop. He tightens the middle and can be relied on to make tackles every time. Defence is every bit important as attack.
des is cookedI'd be worried if i was Hook or O'brien
I repeat wholehearted and a good tackler but like Joffa certainly not a game breaker. My feeling is we will have to have one or the other, not both. Makes us too pedestrian.Twal averaged nearly 110m per game with ball in hand, only 10m less than Offa. Sure he's not P.Haas, but couple that with the fact that he makes nearly 40 tackles per game and misses less than 1, it's ridiculous that people are questioning the talent this bloke has.
Name one other bloke playing today that can do what Twal does week to week.
Injury prone, a big risk, and both brothers will stay together.Tom T coming to the Tigers is the biggest pipe dream I've seen on this forum. Bigger than Munster. Or Trell.
All correct, motion carried, they are not coming.Injury prone, a big risk, and both brothers will stay together.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a game and thought he had a poor performance.
Or as I have heard it put another way,” he won’t win a game for you, but he won’t lose it either”.His highs aren't stratospheric, but the difference between his best and worst is minimal.
Hey mate - I read in the paper on Tuesday that, combined, the Turbo brothers signed a $13m dollar deal over 6 years, still 2 years to go. They wanted the "Des clause" in the contract but Manly refused to agree to it.More than that .. the Turbo Brothers have an exit clause should Des be sacked .. lets offer them top dollar and get the 3 Turbo boys in a package deal .. !!

I think Hook is probably on shakier ground at present because we know ( coz he told us) that O Brien has been in and around premiership winning sides.I'd be worried if i was Hook or O'brien
