The only time i advocate putting someone on ignore is if the person is consistently belligerent or abusive. For which there are a couple of great examples, which I’m sure people could figure out who they are. He has been performing for years, is a rep player and was on the market with no high profile club put in a competitive offer in this time round - do you really think in 12-18mths time that will change?

Managers are controlling the game. Clauses will be a feature in plenty of elite players contract when they leave high profile clubs for the dollars in struggling clubs. The clauses will disappear when the players are in the back end of their careers looking for the retirement package when the 4 year deals then become the preferred options.

Stupid to try to predict what his market value will be in 2027 - in an expanded comp with increased salary cap after he has played two more full seasons of NRL!

Wouldn't be surprised at all if it's Isaac Moses. After all his star client Galvin is about to start negotiating and it's hard not to allow him to insert clauses into his contract if Luai has them. Plus how many people would know Bula was switching to Moses aswell as the details of his current contract.

Maybe so. But given the success of the Storm and Bellamy, I can’t imagine too many reasons why Can Munster would quit the club. Plus, these clauses of other players don’t seem to be broadcasted in the media.

Why would have signing an established coach been a circus. And besides, Luai is what got us May. So it would have been a non factor in relation to his signing imo.

He has a great resume. However, I can rattle off 20 individuals, be they players, coaches or admin whose careers went backwards coming to our club. How was Madge’s record before he came. Premiership winning coach. Came here, failed and supporters ran him out on a rail. Since he left, he’s won an Origin series and got appointed coach at one of the competition’s glamour club’s. This club does funny things to people.

Is any clause in a contract ridiculous? This seems like the kind of circumstance where if it got Luai over the line it is warrented.

I understand the Benji issue. Its pretty clear he was struggling last year. He will be accountable this year. I would argue that a coaching search for a mythical experienced coach would have been extremely destabilising, making it difficult to sign players and sort sponsorship, compared to the current really positive off. But thats my opinion, yours is different.

I don't think any of the points you have made make Richo "as bad as Pascoe" not even close. Based on a very narrow range of outcomes you are giving him a fail mark, we can agree to disagree.
