Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Dog’s would be favourite. Can’t see him at the Roosters (with them releasing May). Saints or Parra will probably put in big $ bids. But I think he’ll end up at the Dogs with them missing out on Jarome Luai and T.May to us.
I can’t see the need for WTs to be going after any more props at that price.
Hmmm; a new article in the herald stated that he will be considering a big offer from the Raiders whilst the Bulldogs have also expressed interest (no word of a contract offer from the Dogs).
Given that the 10 days has been mentioned in the same topic it sounds like he will either be signing with the Raiders or going back to the drawing board.

I feel you are conflating the unknown quantity he was in the pre season to the player he turned out to be. There was even debate between our supporters if he should start. And our halves were average at best. No way was he cracking a starting spot in a side with more qualified halves.
This is true. I was one of those supporters and was proven wrong by the kid. I think you and Tucker take the same view with Makasini. As do I believe it or not.

At another club, he would have been lucky to hold a starting spot. We just didn't have the depth to hold him back and he's a bit of a unique talent as it turns out. The stars aligned for Galvin in more ways than one last season.

To summarise, I think what you're saying is Galvin was at the right club at the right time and through his talent and our necessity, he was able to get a crack that he otherwise wouldn't have gotten.

Well never know how things would have turned out if the circumstances had been different.

Tomato tomata at this point, we've got a seriously
good team on paper here. Anything is possible. I
can recall 2 months ago when I was happy if we
signed Horsborough or Hetherington but we did
(IMO) better with May & Hunt. Our depth is decent —
obviously (right) 2nd row & centre need adjusting
but we could see some surprises there. Lomax at
right centre would have been crazy. We're not far off.

Raiders or Dogs. He used to play at Canberra so they have a decent chance.

Expect Bateman and Sullivan future to be finalised this week…
Stupid question, but I'm confused with our top 30 spots.

Would that mean it would free up 2 spots for May and Sione Fainu bringing us to 30/30 or is May already within the top 30 and getting rid of these 2 would put us at 28/30 and S Fainu being signed puts us at 29/30?

Still need another big body in forwards I think if Lodge still unsigned he would top off the pack nicely
The problem is he thinks he is worth 500k or more per season.
He is not worth and will not get anywhere near that figure from any NRL team, around 350k tops is the most he will get.
Also considering he is not much of any better than a fit and motivated Liam Knight who is also looking for a contract and could be signed for 150-200k.

500K he needs to take the sheet off the face and pull his head out 400K max

Surely there is some potential for a transition to edge out of all the forwards we have
I think that’s what will happen as the cupboard is bare with edge back rowers available to be signed and even for 2026 it is only really Teig Wilton who would be of interest as Kai Pearce-Paul is currently on and would be expecting ridiculous money which he is not worth.

May is already part of the Top 30

Taylan May will do.

Who, Twal? 😅

I’ve seen a few people with Seyfarth on the edge in their teams. I suppose he’d be the most likely.
Seyfarth will get first crack at starting right edge.
If he doesn’t cement himself early we will be looking at either moving Jack Bird to an edge, a transition of someone such as Tim Johanssen who is quick and fit or hoping the likes of Sukkar, Tumeth or Broederlow emerge as a contender.
I believe Benji rates Sukkar in particular higher than what most supporters do, not forgetting he is still only 20 years old, very young for a forward.
