I don't think Marsters is a long-term NRL centre. Fonua is better on the wing.

I doubt Fonua will be our starting winger.
@ said:Interesting to read in SMH that Marshall was approached by the Wests Tigers concerning a mid season transfer to replace Moses but this fell through once Loloheea signed.

I'm sure I've read this somewhere
@ said:We Need a Gareth Ellis clone for the edge
We need another centre
We need another Prop
That should be good enough with our other signings
The rest will be back up and 2nd grade

Wouldn't believe that for a second.

He apparently has been killing it in the ESL. I have no idea how he will go but he looks like a big blockbusting centre/winger.

Why not? He was good enough to be a consistent starter for the Storm.

Much rather have Rona come over and start for us. Really don't need 2 Nofos in the side. We are lacking height and primal try scoring abilities. Rona can bring that for us.
@ said:This is what the report said re Marshall being signed by the Wests Tigers.
According to SMH, the Tigers were close to bringing favourite son Benji Marshall home for a half-season farewell cameo this year, before fullback-of-the-future Tui Lolohea arrived and scuppered the deal.
As the story goes, negotiations were so far along that Marshall had already spoken to Broncos coach Wayne Bennett about the possibility of a release.
“As a club we reached out to Benji at a period when we were looking for someone to fill a role for the rest of the season,” said Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe.
“Acquiring Tui Lolohea meant that a position for Benji was not available and both Benji and the club were comfortable with that.”

I actually kinda wish this happened. It would have been great to see Benji back in Tigers colours for a half season, especially after all he did with the club. I mean we've never made the finals without Marshall. We could of also given him the farewell he deserved.
