Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Douhei is a MUST sign.
Franchise player with a big future.

I remember watching him in the world cup.
Came off the bench, played 2RF and got a try straight away.

Tigers have everything to become the premier Lebanese club which the bulldogs wish they could be.

King Farah knows it. Alex Twal is the best current Lebanese player. Douhei can be up there too.

Lets go.

Madge has won a nrl gf, a super league gf, and taken the Kiwi team to victory over Australia when nobody gave them a snowball in hell hope.
It’s true Madge and Pascoe are privy to some inside info, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have an opinion based on our personal perception of what we hear and read from respected sports journalists.

And at this point in time our top 30 for 2020 is weaker than 2019!

Sure is. By quite a bit.

Demps who is the young Dragons centre who played for Lebanon in the WC? I thought he looked a real prospect

I’ll tell you another thing about Madge. There’s not another coach in the nrl could have got us to within a whisker of playing finals footy.
To those who think we can’t win the gf in 2020, did you also have that opinion in January 2005?

2005 had a golden crop coming through.

A ball playing Origin class FB.

A great, big, winger in Richards.

A top class GK.

One of the best halves pairings of the decade.

If you can see all that being possible in our 2020 backline, then I'd suggest you rush down to the TAB.

LOL, don’t need more fertiliser for the garden Ellery ?
Well.? Did you think they could do it in 2005?
Gotta admit I honestly thought they were the snowball in hell personified, that is until , I think it was round 15 against the Broncos. Broncos had racked up a decent score but late in the second half the Tigers played like they hadn’t played all season.
I’m just saying it’s far too early to write them off before the first ball is kicked.

2005 we also had a Kangaroo class young 9 coming through. 2020 we have....no 9.

Not being negative, I just hope people's expectations are realistic and we do not get a dozen 'sack Madge' threads a week.

IMO , with a few injuries in the backs, we could finish bottom 2.

But it will not be the fault of the current coach.

Saab.

He's not Lebanese but adopted by a lebanese famz and took their name.

Or Jalal Bazazz?

Hes a lock.
Smaller size like Ray Stone.

Plays for Illawarra cutters.

Do we all really think we know more than Madge and Pascoe. Madge clearly knows what he is doing and has a plan. he has won a premiership for Christ sake. if he doesn’t want to sign some 1 for a certain price there is probably a Reason for that. every 1 is entitled to there opinion but seriously to think there just sitting there doing nothing is insane

Exactly. Easy to come up with all the answers when you have zero accountability. What ever decisions Maguire makes they will be informed and measured as they should be. And he will be held accountable unlike all of those who think they know better on here.

I’m just saying.. in January 2005 truth is none of us could have expected the year to end the way it did. The whole story reminded me of an American football movie called “The Replacements.” The only thing missing was the smoke hanging out the side of Pat’s mouth.
The 2005 grand final victory is spoken about in the inner west in legendary terms. Not because the Tigers had the best team but because they didn’t. But each player knew their job.

Everyone knew their jobs but we had the most exciting footballer possibly ever, with an incredible ability to create something out of nothing. We had marquee talent. People doing their job + marquee talent = success.

Who was the marquee talent that we bought in 2004?

In 04 we bought
Richards
Prince
Sattler
Payten
Elford
Hodgson
And (vomit in my mouth) Graham

In 05 the only player of note we signed was
Whatuira

I think if we were to somehow pick up AD for FB and JAC is out of the question I think we should look at BJ from Raiders. They are trying to sign there big 3 guys currently and need to get funds so would be a great time to approach. He would have the incentive of playing with his brother and feel Madge would help get the rubbish out of the game..
