I hope what Hooper said is true last night about Proctor

Maybe tell us what he said...

Stated Tigers showing some interest in Proctor.

We really need to get Welch , if we don’t start signing some top class players , next season will be a repeat of this year . I for one am sick and tired of watching all the other teams below us signing class players .

I'm not sure what his contractual position is but I'd prefer Papenhuyzen over JAC. He seems more balanced and has proven himself at fullback with similar speed to JAC. Possibly less money also.

We are into the negative percentage for Pap's leaving storm. for us (NO chance). They love him and he resigned last year i believe. The only reason we are linked to JAC is because he wants to come back to Sydney and there is only a few clubs that can accommodate him. If we need to spend more for a quality player to join us I say yes - Need to start somewhere.

Absolutely no chance Paps comes back here otherwise we would be discussing it

DRAGONS MOVE TO SIGN QLD ORIGIN FORWARD
Word is the Dragons are preparing a massive offer for the Storm's in-form forward Christian Welch.

The best forward on the field in the win over the Roosters last Thursday night, Welch is off-contract and the Storm are struggling to retain him.

With Tyson Frizell going to the Knights and continuing question marks over the future of Jack DeBelin, Welch would be ideal for the Dragons.

I put the idea to Welch last week and here is his reply: "Yes mate, we are likely to have discussions but haven't met or talked yet."

For the right money, Proctor isn't a bad buy.

He’d add that much needed bite to our pack, he looks hungry to redeem himself

HOPPA'S STAND-OFF WITH MANLY OVER SON
I'm hearing there is tension between Manly and John Hopoate over the former bad boy's son Albert.

Young Albert is a gun who has had two knee reconstructions in the past two seasons but has finally regained his fitness.

The youngster can't quite crack Manly's top squad and dad John is demanding top dollar for the kid for next season.

Manly are unwilling to pay at this stage and shipped the youngster off to the Warriors on a loan deal last week.

But that may be a good thing for both parties - it gives Albert the chance to prove himself in top company and possibly secure the deal his dad craves with the Sea Eagles

Two knee reconstructions I think this is one we should stay away from

Proctor would be good for us on a short term deal provided the money was right. Very experienced hard head who could teach our young guys a lot about performing more consistently.

He's 32 in February would still have 3 good years in him to teach our young guys

I would only give him 2 years. Would have to be cheap as well.

I don't see the appeal of signing Proctor at all. He's better than Rowdy but he'd also be asking for a lot more money. He's also getting long in the tooth - his best football is behind him.

All I can think is that he’s a short term, (should be) cheap option who’s an experienced leader who can help with the culture change at the club while being a solid consistent performer. Won’t make a huge difference to us on the field so if we don’t get him I’m not gonna be upset.

We need second rowers and not many are on the market at the moment. Hopefully they wait and see if any other options pop up

I reckon we are a really good chance to get him. I'm more worried that we do get him and stuff our cap up again.

Do we need second rowers ? I think we need spine players and outside backs first and then props and then second rowers.
