Simona on the move

Roberts-davies was the initial swap option - deal fell through, titans weren't happy with it, instead offered zillman and the tigers remained interested.

Usually for a player to move clubs, there is some form of encouragement usually through job security or an extended contract. Zillman is 30 an off contract at the end of this year. Assume the tigers would have to offer him a 2-3 year deal which would be ridiculous.

Zillman's well aware he isn't going to get game time this season. Tigers offering him a first grade spot is enough for him to consider the move. Honestly I hope this never happens as Simona is a key back for us, but from what I hear it's gaining momentum.

I'm sick of losing players because Taylor can't get along with people.

Firstly, where did you get the idea Simona and Taylor don't get along?

Secondly, we've already shopped around Rankin, Lovett and Kev, if rumours are to be believed. Hardly playing favourites.

At an event last year around semi final time and I was under the impression it was common knowledge Woods, Brooks, Simona, Lovett, Sirro had a strained relationship with the coach. I also fear this will cost us players this year. Players are close with Simona and it's unwarranted there are 10 I would move before him.

So have the WT's renegotiated Tim's contract yet with the promise of a massive TPA provided by a couple of blokes

One from Sandy Point and another businessman from Maroochydore respectively

Cmon boys you want to #savetimsim , actions speak louder than words

I did read an article a few years ago on Tim and his family. It was a very good story about how his family still live together at home because of their parents. It seems TIm is the type of player you build a club around with his values about family and respect, noting these extend to the dressing room.

It may be coincidental, but all the players you have mentioned plus RF originate from the Balmain side of WTs,

I reckon we might get something out of Zillman that other clubs wouldn't. By which I mean: element of surprise. Defences wouldn't know which of the immobile, skill free outside backs is Zillman and which is Rankin. Not sure what we'd do with this but it has to be worth something.

And guess who was the last player from GC we got.. Jordan Rankin

Wrong. We got him from Hull, if you don't include the 2 games he played for Doncaster. The last player we got from the GC was Bodene Thompson.

The funniest part about all of this for me is the reports Billy Zillman is on $650K at the Titans. For all the moaning people do about WT's over-paid players, that one strikes hard.

agreed… I just figured that was an over-inflation of his salary.

That's a strange one - been plenty of contrary reports that Lovett and Taylor are tight, because of Lovett's work ethic, and the fact he was one of the few players to really improve under Taylor…

$50 is an over-inflation of his salary, Billy Zillman is a very poor footballer. I've seen him do about 3 good things his entire career and only because he used to be fast and occasionally put into open space.

But on the list of NRL footballers I don't rate, he's up the top.

**NRL 2017: Wests Tigers Tim Simona admits to rival interest, wants to stay at Concord
February 13, 2017 10:49am**

WESTS Tigers centre Tim Simona admits he’s received interest about a move to another NRL club but has committed himself to finishing his contract at the joint venture.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a pre-season move to Gold Coast as the Tigers attempt to create room in the salary cap in a year where over a third of their squad come off the books.

However Simona said he had yet to speak directly to another club about a possible move.

“I was surprised that other clubs have been offering, but I haven’t spoken to anyone yet. That’s my manager’s job. I let him deal with that,” Simona told AAP.

“At the end of the day, footy’s a business. I understand if things don’t happen your way. At the moment I’m concentrating on playing good footy for the Tigers.

“I’m still here for another year and that’s the main thing. I’m focusing on playing good footy.”

Simona is one of a boatload of names off-contract at the end of the season, including stars Aaron Woods, Mitchell Moses, Luke Brooks and James Tedesco.

The big four are likely to hold priority for the Tigers, however Simona is hopeful of nutting out a new deal that will allow him to remain a one-club player.

“The club’s been there ever since I was a kid. I just want to perform each week,” he said.

“That’s my goal, be that consistent player. I’ve come from a shoulder reconstruction. I’ve been training hard, working my shoulder, trying to get it right, hopefully come round one I’ll be there.

“I want to get the talk done as soon as possible. I just want to concentrate on playing footy.

“Hopefully it’s done soon, but at the moment I’m not really worried.”

OMG…A manager receiving offers from rival Clubs for one of his clients...

That's not how it works...Said player needs to be shopped around by his current Club 1st...

Good. Hopefully the shoulder gets back to 100% before round One and he plays out the entire 2017 season with the WTs. Also hope he signs on for 2018 and beyond.
