Taylor thinking long-term for Tigers

it was just awful….but they did try their arses off and I reckon Junior Pearce squeezed every ounce out of them that he could.

This team has heaps of promise, stars and internationals in it,both junior and senior!

This is exactly my point and its also why this is worse. We don't have a dud team on paper and yet we are playing terrible footy.

I hope that changes tonight.

That win last night is all the sweeter knowing that my support for the team and coach hasn't wavered all season. I'm going outside to catch a crow; now, just how do you post a delicious crow for all the fair weather supporters on this forum?

I don't think we count our chickens before they hatch but this was a great start to what I am hoping will be a turn around of sorts. @Juro updated the curve yet?

Im starting to get a really strange feeling that we might roll the Bunnies tonight. Anyone else feel the same?

Well that gut feeling was right. Was actually real close to having a few bob on us at those juicy odds but my head talked my gut out of it.

I told hobbo yesterday morning we were going to win and hint to him to change his tip in our Tipping Comp.

Oh well i tried

Ha I knew it wouldn't be long before these types of snide posts arose from the gutters.
Did you watch the game or just had a friend tell you the score? If you watched, did you notice the way we played? Was it the same game plan?

Eat crow indeed…

I said in the other thread that we performed very differently to the Taylor ball tactics that we had been playing. Absolutely nuts to state that was anything but a complete vindication for everyone that has been stating how poor Taylor ball has been.

Better game plans and tactics or the players rebelling. I don't care. We changed tactics and we were a much better team.

I accept having speed out wide made a significant difference but we actually attacked as well. That puts pressure on the opposition. We haven't done that recently.

We attacked because the forwards went forward.
Halves had more time and space.
More speed out wide.
Same tactics for mine but for once it all came together.

Possibly a little tweek but still "Taylorball" for mine.

Taylor never said what he wanted was forever, learn this and then tweek, learn that and then tweek. Still "Taylorball" whatever they do until he is no longer coach.

What I have noticed is our position on the Points Against ladder. Currently 7th best defensive. Still not top 4 material, but in prior years we have always sat at 12-16th somewhere….

I loved our flamboyant and natural and weird attack over the years, but I'm happy with seeing that only occasionally if I know our defence is sound.

Now, now it's all OK; I know it hurts.

ironically i had just got to the end of my patience with taylor and his spin doctor ways were starting to really remind me of ricky stuart the way there was always some excuse. i actually got annoyed when i saw him on tv the other day!!!

fast forward to the game on friday night and suddenly i was thinking "well i'll be buggered: maybe he actually does know what he is doing!"

still, the proof will be seen in time, and with a few wins against full strength, top sides. friday was a welcome and overdue (even if temporary!) alleviation of the weeks of suffering watching the tigers - it reminded me a lot of the games they won in the first half of last season which were awesome.

first game i have really enjoyed watching them for some time - "taylorball" or not, it was still good to watch. finally.

the only thing that hurts is side splitting laughter…..unwavering support Pfft.
We've all been here for quite some time...you dont stay on this board if you stop suppprting...ala gobbs alien etc.
whether our support is up to your standard or not is not for you to decide...worry about yourself and your own support. ..everyone else will look after their own

I'm with JT … We might have had our win for a while for all I know ... But knowing some one has a plan and is working towards it is worthy of support. If the results don't come through in a couple of years then it's time to try someone else. But in the meantime I'm happy to run with it. I said at the start of the year 12th place was about where we'd finish .... I haven't changed my mind .... But the medium to longer term prospects are looking brighter.

Just because people don't like the way the team has been playing doesn't mean they are any less of a supporter.

Why don't we call anyone who accepted the poor form that we have been showing and the stupid tactics of Taylor Ball not a true fan. That seems more likely to me than what these weirdos are stating.
