There is always a better player to be found if the opportunities are available to them. He and the other divas will only be missed if Packer does not get it right on game day next year.

@ said:Tedesco just mentioned on Sterlo he was moving out of the house with Brooks and Moses and was heading east. That would be to the undisclosed house he's been given I'm sure!
@ said:@ said:Didn't do himself any favours last night by appearing on Sterlo's Fox footy show in a Nike polo shirt.
Yep…...."Air Teddy".
Also said "I can't wait" to join the Roosters a few too many times for my liking, can't recall too many other players disrespecting their current club (who have always done their utmost to look after him) like that. Pretty poor from Ted, he seems pretty uneducated in the facet of respect and thankfullness IMO.

Let's hope mitch moves to parra also.

I am not saying what is right or wrong but it is definitely the way of the world now where loyalty to anyone but yourself is non existent.
The majority (not all) of players, the same as the majority of people, these days have no loyalty to employers, clubs, fans, friends or even in some cases family - it is all about the $ and what they can do for themselves. Priority 1,2 and 3 is themselves.
Sure I understand the people who will respond to this and say the clubs or employers only show loyalty when it suits them and will fire/make redundant/or move on "employee's" when they see fit - understood.
However as they say it is bad form, in any walk of life, to crap in your own nest and i think players these days, fuelled by greedy and in most cases unscrupulous agents along with fawning and sycophantic media make it OK for players to act like douches - a la poor mitch and his serious psychological issues when we didn't release I'm immediately!!! (damn any contract or feeling of honour/commitment)
Sooner we fans accept that we may love the club but players are merely mercenary employee's the better our emotional stability will be.
@ said:@ said:Come on folks - let's not let our disenchantment with Teddy allow us to distort the facts. He never said he wanted to finish his career at the Tigers at all!
Sure, I hate it that he decided to walk on the Tiges but give the guy credit for putting in and for being arguably our most lethal player. Ivan said it himself - we are never going to replace him, but he's going so let's move on, and the positive is that his departure allows us to create a new team perhaps with a different style and mix.
Moses, Woods and Teddy going have allowed Ivan to build a more balanced side. Instead of having three salary cap anchors that won't guarantee a finals appearance we may be in with a shot with a team next year where there are competition for spots and no ridiculously overpaid players.

This bloke at his best is argubaly the best player in the NRL.
He can single-handely change the momentum of games like he did on the weekend.
I really hope he comes back!
I like to eat fresh food and produce, not when its past is "Used By" Date
I dont want left overs anymore.
Who he was past the "Used By" date?
Teddy is 24, by the time he finishes his 4 years at the rorters he will be 28
28 is when players reach their peak - not the used by date
And left overs isn't the best fullback in the NRL
Ted IS NOT the best fullback in the NRL.

@ said:A couple of things.
Teddy is a good fullback currently NSW rep but in the future I have a feeling Dylan Edwards will surpass Teddy. And like that, chances are there will be another young fullback that surpasses them both.
Penrith didn't grow Edwards, they recruited him as a junior from Bellogin (apologies for the spelling).
His parents drove him down each week to play in the Penrith comp as a kid.
We need to be smart and look to do the same.
Having all our hopes tied into some privileged local boys screwed us.
We hate on the roosters. But you have to admire there ability to look an attractive option for players 'in their prime'. Being able to recruit this way has lead to most of there success.
I hope we as a club and fans for that matter are learning that this is a slow process and hopefully one day we will be able to retain our future Teddy.
In our current predicament it wasn't a bad result that we were not able to retain him but it is a lesson that needs to be learnt and fast.
Money or loyalty won't mean anything to a player. It's the wins on the board that do.

I think we need to be really clear that you are right in relation to Teddy but he doesn't seem a loyal person at all. These guys are footy players. That doesn't mean that they are good people.
Teddy comes across to me as a spoilt brat who doesn't really have good connections with people. He is now best friends with Roosters players and I bet he hardly knows them. He just swaps his allegiances really easily.
He also showed when he signed with Canberra that he was extremely sensitive to being treated the way he believes he deserves to be treated. We heard this time about the club not providing him with his footy whisperer and masseuse and last time how Mayer (I think) didn't treat him right.
Other players will come along and I think more often than not they will be a lot more loyal than someone like Teddy. I look at players like Benji, Robbie, Fulton and heaps others. Most guys at other clubs are the same. Players typically don't leave if they are offered good dollars. I honestly can't think of another player in the NRL who has left like Teddy has left us. To top it off the same thing happened with our captain and to a lesser extent Moses. We've had a really bad culture in the team which to me is really made up of a bunch of players who aren't the right people to build a clubs future on.

Going to the roosters does not surprise me one bit.
