Tedesco Thread || He's staying!

At least the Benji coming back thing was over in a couple of weeks or so. Either way, just decide, this has been dragging on and on.

Canberra have put aside 1 mill a season for milford. If he leaves the money is freed up for teddy. As I said if teddy leaves he will playing in a weak team each week. Whats to say when his contract is up again he gets peanuts. Look at trex from doggies. Who would resign him again for 600 thou a year.

I'm with NT Tiger. I think it's a done deal and they are waiting to use it as publicity before a big match at Campbeltown. I would do that if I was Grant.

Teddy can see the Moses and Brooks opportunity. He will stay to play rep footy and make his money on his next contract when Robbie is gone.

I can also understand a player taking 200k more per year and moving. 10 years of career is not long to pay off a house etc. 300k becomes 200k after tax, becomes 100k after living like a football player. 10 x 100k is $1m and doesn't guarantee much of a retirement.

["]I heard last night on 2UE sports show with Gibbsy and Brandy that Canberra were making a massive move for Tedesco since they are sure that Milford is going to Brisbane. I wouldn't care how much they paid me you would have to be very stupid to go and play for the Raiders coached by that imposter Stuart and leave all the good young talent the Tigers have. Plus you have to live in Canberra. I am not worried that we would lose him to that club.

Its very complicated at the moment , but the offer on the table was way over what the Tigers offer was

Thought you might have let us know earlier canberra had apparently entered the fray…oh well

Thought I had sorry

No, you didnt…..scoop
It was in another Tedesco thread Ink

I dropped some hints at what club it was and someone guessed

Think it was the thread where you had a go at me for getting people to PM me

Seeing it is public …...............

The only place his signing is being discussed ad nauseum is on here.
He'll either sign with us or someone else when he's ready.
Hopefully us.

Is this an admission that Tedesco is a better fullback than Moltzen CK ??

Its OK you can switch to the Dark Side if you wish …..........

Tedesco debuted round 1 2012,he has played 25 games out of a possible 57,I think $320k would be a reasonable offer for a player with these stats, with a chance to get a bigger deal if he stays in form and on the field.

I agree. 320k is good money for a 21 year old who hasn't yet played origin. I could understand the temptation to take the money. James will decide what's best for him, but it's important to remember money isn't everything and plenty of careers have plummeted after taking the big dollars

He isn't going to have a major injury every season though *touch wood in case he stays" 320k would be great but I don't trust any figure the media give us.

These figures are from Happy not the media, and he appears to be in the know in Teddy's case,so i beleive him.

For my money, the whole situation is due to contract worth inflation from Teddy's manager. They were essentially playing hard ball and WT were biting their fingernails as they didn't want to call their bluff (just incase he left).
Now that he is injured, I would bet my money that WT have called their bluff and the whole situation has been brought to a halt. If Teddy's form somehow gets even better (and lets face it, if he didn't get injured it would have continued rising) then they might be in a position to play hard ball again.

Honestly, I'm over it. He's probably my favourite player atm but he's not worth more than $350k. HES PLAYED LIKE 20 FG GAMES FFS

Now that Canberra are in the picture I wonder if his manager is holding off until the June 13 deadline to see if Milford does a backflip. If he does Canberra will be broke. If he goes to the Broncs it may be bye bye Teddy.

Teddy's market value is exactly that, its what a club is willing to pay. Its like the Sydney housing market, its basically out of control due to demand out stripping supply. He pays a manager a lot of money to stitch him the best possible deal.

I would imagine we are still the front runners to sign him, but at the end of the day if Canberra or another club throw monopoly money at him anything is possible. Mayer unlike some of his predecessors I think knows their is limit to how much we can offer without disrupting the balance to our playing roster.

Good posts the last two

Sad to see supporters turning on him because they are impatient….its not your life hes dealing with

I can't think of the last time the Raiders signed a quality player who is borderline marquee. They can't attract them cos no one wants to live down there.

Teddy would be used to the cold though…wouldnt bother him, but yeh Canberra is a bit like Castle Hill on a sunday arvo zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Exactly right Ink

As I said , if anyone knows how quickly your career can be turned upside down it is James Tedesco

Whats the hurry ?? Its not as if it is September and no one else is on the market

Having a think about it I understand why Teddy will take the money if he does. He knows he is prone to injury, one injury can end his career (god forbid), if this does happen the extra 300k (approx.) offered by Canberra will do him a lot of good.
