The rot set in after Woods and Ava were replaced i am truly amazed that some people only see the flashy and good Tedesco and not the hard working and good Woods.Without Woods up front our pack is at best bog average with little go forward and no size.We need both for the club to progress to the next level.
For people who say Woods can be replaced ask yourself who by?He is imo the best prop in Australia and we are lucky to have him.

Woods is more flashy than Tedesco.
He hasnt been hardworking for a while.

Are you saying Woods hasn't been hardworking prop?

We lost the game in the forwards before the Penrith backs started to cut loose.
We need dominant forward pack before we can start making finals. Woods and Teddy should be signed first, then one of the halves. Moses preferably. As much as I love Nofo we need a gun centre first.

After Teddy and Woods we have to look at our forward pack and if we can still afford Moses that is good but if we can't it's not the end of the world, as for the no7 I think the money he wants can be spent a lot better elsewhere

Im happy to pay overs for Woods and Tedesco. They have a trait we haven't had in years which is consistency. Re-signing them two is so so important. Id even say Nofa is now our 3rd most important signing. As for our halves, if someone is willing to pay $1million or whatever they think they are worth then you know what see you later. We would then have plenty of money to spend on bulking our forward pack (evans and McQueen) get a decent speedy centre and winger. If we need to pay $1million dollars each to keep our halves then we wont have money left to build our squad and we will just stay in this position for a long long time.

OK, you let both halves go - who will we have in these two positions?
Be realistic here - what haves that are available are better than ours?

With all due respect Russell you need to let go of the "Potential" these kids were supposed to have delivered, I'm not sold on it and been waiting on hope when at the same time have seen players such as Blake Austin and Te Marie Martin prosper at other Clubs not so much Martin just yet but showed plenty last year before being injured.

The obsession in Moses and Brooks is mind boggling they have done squat and what? we are going to pay big money to the one Manager cause he holds all 4 of these?
This side needs way more than these so called Big 4 only Teddy and Woods are worth the mention of a must to keep.
Moses and Brooks are not worth anywhere near your $700K per year and if you took $1.4 Million with you on the open market you will get a damn good half or 5/8th instead of spending that on these 2 muppets.

We keep relying on our own players that we develop cause we can't afford a tin to piss on and are fed this Potential crap and at the same time pay other Clubs to have our players playing for them.

I'm over it.

Exactly my point. Lets pay what these guys are worth and pay them on what they have delivered. Brooks has played a handful of good gsmes in 3 years. Moses cant defend and the gap between his best and his worst is horrendous. Happy to keep them if we pay what they are worth, not what their egos and their manager think they are worth. If by all accounts these guys want $800k plus to stay then how would you like us to build up our squad. We need 2 or 3 big body forwards, we need a world class center and a speedy winger. They arent the only two halves of contract in the nrl if need be lets go to plan b.

You put Moses behind any side with a decent forward and he will excel

Halves can't play off the back foot , you could put Wally Lewis and Peter Sterling in their prime behind this pack and not a lot would change

Well maybe not , Lewis was smart enough to know when his pack was losing the ruck and would use every ploy in the book to even it out

You can maybe make a case for TMM over Brooks and Moses, but no way can you say that the club made a mistake going with Moses over Austin. All Austin has is his show and go. Never in my life have i seen a more one dimensional 5/8 than him. Moses is a superior player imo.

Happy I know what your saying and I said something similar after the game, but I also think if I am a no7 and earning 600g a year I should be able to place a bomb inside the playing field , kick a grubber into the in goal and have a plan on what I am going to do on the six tackle. The same also applies to the no6\. In my day it was the job of the 7 or 6 to actually give the forwards a rev up and get them firing

I agree with what you are saying, but what they are worth is actually more than what they have delivered unfortunately due to what in business is referred to as _opportunity cost_. Brooks may have performed worth $300K but another club is willing to offer him $500-600K. That is because there are no other halves available. So the Tigers may say well he has performed like a $300K half so we let him go….but then where is the opportunity to find and buy a half that performs like a $600K player? Particularly when he DOES have the potential to pull it off.

Players worth are what Clubs are prepared to pay…

See Ben Hunt - DCE...

I really do hope Brooks wants $1M per season, so I can laugh long and hard about it. I hope he isn't asking for something reasonable, because that would make him a more bargain prospect and harder to laugh off.

But a million bucks? Hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah Not even if you pulled your debut game form out 10 times a season are you worth a million. Tedesco yes, everyone else in the side nope, and you are far down the list of nopes Brooksie.

I agree with what your saying. Brooks is really a $300k player but as you rightly stated is going to get $500-$600k. If thats the amount im ok with that. Its the talk of $800k plus that is doing my head in. Or Moses at a $1million. These figures are just absurd for what we have recieved from both these guys. Brooks gets alot of flak and rightly so. But you look at Moses at marker on the 5th tackle and Cleary gets the ball, Moses doesnt even bother to chase. Cleary puts it up and they score. Can you imagine that was Thurston at marker.

I think it's good if they are asking for this type of money because it makes it really easy for us. We let them go. If another club pays that amount it will stuff that club up.

You missed this T4L

Tiger4life - please answer the question - all you basically said was repeating your previous post.

If you let our halves go (you said) - who do you replace them with (I said) ?

Names please and cost.

As for everyone talking about 800k and 1 million for our halves :-

Could you please quote where I can find Brooks, Moses, their Manager or the Tigers Club mentioning any money figure at all on how much they are worth.

I 'll tell you where - nowhere - just some ratbags pulling figures out of the air that know nothing.

I believe many would agree and feel the same way FT

I used to go to games early just to watch TMM then realise the tigers were the only team not to chase his signature. But I think Moses has some potential.
