THE 4......THREAD

Well if I was in management there's two ways Id look at it, sign the real big 4 (Woods, teddy, Moses and nofo) if brooks doesn't improve in the coming weeks he gets the boot and the money we save from him can either go towards a quality replacement in either Gareth Widdop or my first preference in Jack Bird. On the other hand they can sign a cheap foil half, a player that jumps out is Connor Watson with Keary and Pearce limiting his opportunity then spend the big $ on a quality forward.

Analise this one peeps.

"You don't want to waste three or four years of footy and not be happy (under a coach you don't like)."

Honestly, how did signing a contract be so dependent on how much you like a coach?

What about results? IMO this is just dumb saying this publicly from Woods. So if the Tigers are winless for the first 6 rounds and the club is seriously thinking about looking at another coach, will the big 4 want 'out' just because Taylor is going?

I really do think he is shooting himself in the foot (Woods). It would be a sh*t thing for him if he went somewhere else and we brought on a coach who actually gets us into the finals.

Management could just communicate what their plans are with the big 4.

Can't believe woods 26 now

Stupid comments from a team captain, he should be encouraging the others to stay rather than voicing that garbage. So now if JT stays and he leaves, he looks like an idiot.

My top 17 for next year would have jlj and Moses in the halves. That hopefully leaves money for an impact second rower and a consistent centre.
1\. Teddy
2\. Nofa
5\. Suli if he learns to hold the ball
6\. Moses
7\. Jlj
8\. Woods
9\. Liddell or MM
10\. Ava
13\. ET

That is a solid enough foundation to do strengthen the squad given how much more cap space we should (finally) have.

If idriss is fit in 2 or 3 months then he can have a spot on an edge Or off the bench, I'd like to see MCK given a chance at centre too, no qualms with his attack but his D can be iffy. Sue needs to keep going hard all year before I'm convinced.

Of the next gen I'd be keeping JJ, tatola and Paseka (although I haven't seen him play in the flesh that I remember).

Management has to think like this, and I'm sure they are, 4 players won't win a comp with the left and right edges we have atm, or the lack of first grade ready depth.

From his spot on 360, I took his comments to mean him and the other 3 would like Taylor to be re-signed. Does anyone agree or disagree with my perception of the interview?

Not necessarily mate … Maybe their hanging out for a decent coach ?

This is probably wood's way of being nice about the situation .

Don't you worry Woodsie knows exactly what's going on and as Captain he would of had his input into which direction he feels the Club should be going in regards with JT…..i would Bet my left Nut on that , What Odds have you got Simona ?

Things can be read 2 ways..Could be a case of re-singing Taylor will make Woodsey happy knowing it's settled..

Funny how people are already interpreting the comments based on their own feelings for the coach.

Exactly Gunners,I read it as if JT was resigned it would make his decision more definate ..ie Woods doesn't want coaches chopping and changing for the next 4 years..,

He sat on the fence. Think his mostly worried that doesn't want an Elijah Taylor at Penrith situation. But can be implied he be OK if jt signed. It's such a big call but I'd only oust Taylor for hasler.

Another question would they be happy if Jt signed for 1 year?

He would have stated his support for JT if this was the case. Not what you want to hear with Raiders, Storm, Cowboys on the horizon.

I believe the players are trying to extort top dollar and influence the coaching decision. All four will stay in my view they know they can get top dollar from the Tigers and no one is paying near 1m for any one other than Teddy.

They will sign when they realise the money is not there for all four.

I hope so, sooner Taylor is gone, the better.

I doubt anyone would like Taylor to be re-signed. Except maybe Joel Edwards

You put Moses behind any side with a decent forward and he will excel

Halves can't play off the back foot , you could put Wally Lewis and Peter Sterling in their prime behind this pack and not a lot would change

Well maybe not , Lewis was smart enough to know when his pack was losing the ruck and would use every ploy in the book to even it out

Happy I know what your saying and I said something similar after the game, but I also think if I am a no7 and earning 600g a year I should be able to place a bomb inside the playing field , kick a grubber into the in goal and have a plan on what I am going to do on the six tackle. The same also applies to the no6\. In my day it was the job of the 7 or 6 to actually give the forwards a rev up and get them firing

In my day you just ignored the 6 and 7 , they were the pussies of the side , couldn't organize a free you know what in a brothel full of supermodels

He was very non committal with who he wants, probably wary of being accused of Stabbing the Coach in the back
